"Manley said the township will run short on funds to pay the poor relief investigator. He said the previous investigator spent three months training his wife, Missy Manley, for the position. He said that investigator and his wife were paid out of the investigator account, which will leave it short for the year. The investigator is paid $17,000 a year to check on people receiving assistance. Really? That's longer than military basic training. What is it all the hip people say nowadays? Jus' sayin', I believe.

From his current campaign ads, I'm guessing "Ole Bussy" already considers his effort on the ropes. He didn't simply slip into negative mud-slinging, he got down & "waller'd" in it. Deckard: Challenges met well

His major fault is his reluctance to disappoint, which, at the same time, oddly enough, is also his greatest strength. I'm not sure if his desire to appease drives his relentless public service or vice versa. Either way, after much consideration, Mayor Deckard has won my very hard-earned vote.

In my opinion, Spina is not a legitimate candidate. I believe, his candidacy is the result of a consummation of he and Rod Stafford’s anger over not having their bid accepted for the demolition of flood damaged houses on Southview Dr, period. I am more than a little disappointed at the number of Spinas signs I see planted around (of course, a great number of those are in the yards of his business partner’s, Steve Dean, rental properties. I would be curious to know how many of the residents requested the signage). Until Spina explains how he will do all the glorious and wonderful things he has promised, I’ll keep my choices focused on the viable candidates.

As far as my wife, she inquired about the job and I spoke to the lady who had done it before, and gave her the job.” Manley said townships were not the only form of government with nepotism and said anyone, whether in government or private business, in a position to help family members and friends would do so. “I know some people have a problem with nepotism, but I don’t see a problem with it,” he said. “As long as there are checks and balances.” Manley said Cathy Neal puts in more hours than are required for her pay and that he’s never had anyone complain about his family members being on the payroll, nor has he had anyone else inquire about the jobs. Except, apparently an English teacher. A merger between the Martinsville and Washington Township fire department could happen in the future and could be a cost cutter, but he hasn’t had time to study it. I'm curious as to how one would know this consolidation could be a cost cutter if one hadn't had time to study it. Thank you, Mr. Kivett, for making my decision a little easier.

A.H., You are so correct, I attack...stupidity. If someone's comments are stupid, I confront them. Your's was stupid, so I confronted you. Remember, stupid is the refusal to accept facts. Ignorance is the absence of facts. Stop being stupid. Instead of anonymously attacking the school & police officials, how about contacting them with your resolution for the problem. From what I've seen of your comments, you can only tout education as the answer to everything. Is that the answer here? Do educated people not shoot other people? I'm curios how some great thingers, and you, might handle the situation. As far as the actual police tasing, The city administration dealt with the officers involved. If you agree with their decision is immaterial. If my attacking your comments offends you, stop making stupid ones. (BTW, you'll notice I used the word "stupid" several times in my post. That's because what you posted fell into that catagory. Just so you know.)
