| Vote won’t end controversy over annexation | |
| CGRRR Sunday, July 22, 2012: 7:09 pm | There is a rumor floating around that the annexation boundries have been changed. The rumor that I heard says that Grandview Heights and Legendary Hills are in the proposed annexation area. While Grandview Heights does not have city water or sewer it will not have these services for several years, so I hope those people don't have problems within the next couple of years counting on the city to help them out. Legendary Hills on the other hand, has had city water and sewer since it was developed. The developer, Mike Wolf struck deals with the city to connect the water and sewer lines to the city. The homeowners that built in Legendary Hills paid the developer back for his investment when we purchase the lots that our houses sit on. then we paid the city for our water meters and have paid our water and sewer bill on time for years. The city feels that we at Legendary Hills have been receiving these services for free. This is not the case as I stated earlier. I feel that if more money is needed for the water and sewer, I will pay more for my water billl, I don't feel that being annexed into the city will improve our quality of life. I feel that we will we will pay the bill for a failled annexation boondoggle. |
