Madison Township chief fired from full-time job

I seem to remember people griping about how bad things were in the township during the republican primary. Some thought it was funny to put signs out for a weaker candidate and ignore the only possibility of electing a candidate that would have brought positive change. (I hate to use the word change because of the other idiot that was elected to a different office, but the definition of the word fits.)

People I honestly don't know what to tell you. You got exactly what was inevitable after the ballots were cast. A democrat candidate was not going to win in the fall. I have known Jim Bolin for years, and he's a wonderful person. Sadly, he is not capable of seeing through the haze when his "supporters" give him guidance. The only hope this township has is for people to actually educate themselves about the future candidates and actually take some time out of their day and vote.

11 votes! That's right folks. 11 votes was the difference. Better hold onto your *** cause we aren't even close to seeing the circus end. By the way, do your research this isn't the first time for this behavior to have occurred with consequences. Ask Larry Stevenson what action he had to take with a certain employee when he was Chief for the very same thing.

Simply said, you cannot fix stupid.

Save them plea bargains for the sex offenders, drunk drivers, and repeat substance abusers. When will society wake up and start using some common sense with the criminal justice system?

Step Up/ Rod I 100% agree with your comments. Couldn't have said it better myself. The thought of that policeman getting a plea bargain... OUTRAGEOUS!!! We need to keep those plea bargains for the child molesters, burglars that remove your property while you are working, and drunk drivers that kill people. How dare they consider a plea for someone that has never had a blemish on his record before or after his resignation. I'm probably being cynical again, but I'm just saying...

People honestly have no idea just how bad that department has been run into the ground with wants instead of needs. You are now seeing the scenario of spending more than what you have on stupid stuff instead of the much needed EMS/fire protection.

Misunderstood why don't you go barbecue and talk about what all you and Terry have done over the years to help Brooklyn residents. Give the kid a break he's trying to improve things. Not an easy task after the previous train wreck.

If you are going to take an officers take home car away, then give them a huge raise. They are told that personal use of the cars is part of their salary. Big difference between theft and perks.

The board is the least of the problems. We have a clerk that has a husband for one of the chief's. He by the way was paid nearly 20,000 to maintain the cemeteries that has AWLAYS been around 3 grand in the past. We have firemen running around thinking that they are enrolling in PERF for their retirement. (Not sure how that's going to be funded when we are stuck in emergency loans just to keep the doors open.) Bolin stated that he would have them on PERF in July 2010? We already stopped the paramedic from working out of station 31 DUE TO FUNDING. They want 21-27 career fire fighters for a dept that makes less runs than both Mooresville and Brown Twp. By the way, you could add both Brown and Mooresville together and you wont't get 27 career firemen. Wake up people, demand that they pull their heads out. It's truly utter stupidity at this point.

The truth slowly comes out. I wish Juan the best and hate to see township residents without his services. The dept has truly been run into the ground, and it's a shame. I am now waiting on the investigation that is inevitable. We will then more than likely see it end up in front of a grand jury...

It was 11 votes that he won by. They couldn't have been too happy. Throw in McClures votes with McDonough's and you get way LESS than 50 of the votes to the winner. How happy are they?

An emergency loan to fund a pension plan in these times? What's wrong with hiring career firefighters from other departments to work here part time? They are trained, don't need the insurance and are already in a pension fund... Wake up people, Madison Twp isn't exactly rolling in tax revenue from businesses, we are a predominantly residential area. You have to learn to crawl before you run marathons. I've heard 21-27 career firmean is the goal. That's more than Brown and Mooresville fire departments put together. hmmm...

First of all, one vote vs twenty plus. Then I guess we could comment on sweet Virginia pulling the election inspectors at the poll sites out of the building everytime a fireman decided to state vote John L Clark. Then we had to investigate the shirts being worn by the firemen that were perfectly legal. I didn't seek Mark Harris acting that way. One vote, come on man wake up. Mansfield as Harris should split the $136.00 for 10 poll sites and do the recount. Then put it to bed.
