| Bill would require drug tests of welfare recipients, lawmakers | |
| Kip06 Wednesday, February 1, 2012: 12:39 pm | “This is one of the most ill thought out pieces of legislation I have ever run across,” Crawford said. “I’m at a loss to understand.” I agree totally. So, the State government is going to adminster this testing program? I'll wager that the cost of administering this program will exceed the actual welfare benefit. |
| Ban on sale of novelty lighters passed | |
| Kip06 Saturday, January 28, 2012: 8:26 pm | How did this bill pass? Does someone actually keep statistics of fires started with novelty lighters? Another example of time wasted by the State Legislature! Pathetic!! |
| IU Marching Hundred to play at Super Bowl in Indianapolis | |
| Kip06 Thursday, December 8, 2011: 7:34 pm | And the IU Marching Hundred has a little local flavor in former Marching Artesian Julia Christman is a band member! Yeah IU Band!!! |
| I-69 a done deal | |
| Kip06 Saturday, November 5, 2011: 9:05 am | And you played the "fold'em" card on this issue a long time ago! Cost you my vote. |
| Neighbors protest molester | |
| Kip06 Wednesday, September 8, 2010: 3:43 pm | Woods also is trying to sell his home. Before it became known that Glasscock was living next to him, Woods said he was getting two to three calls a week about his property. Here's a hint. It might have something to do with the Big Yellow signs in your Front Yard. |
| Bullying issues cause family problems | |
| Kip06 Monday, July 12, 2010: 9:48 pm | My sympathy goes out to Courtney and her family. I wonder if the school system and the local police department will resolve the situation once Courtney takes matters into her own hands. This is an explosive situation waiting to happen. Chief Deputy Downey's statement that, "bullying cases tend to get handled within the schools" is unfortunatley the truth. The Carmel school system sure handled a recent bullying case well, didn't they. My advice.....get a good lawyer, take the School System to Court for failing to provide a safe educational environment, and force a resolution. |
| MSD Martinsville suspends superintendent for five days; other penalities | |
| Kip06 Thursday, April 8, 2010: 9:15 pm | Thank you Martinsville School Board for maintaining some sense of sanity throughout this process. The penalties seem fair, and Dr. Furniss is getting the 2nd chance he deserves. Now, let's get back to work... |
| School board meeting changed to Thursday | |
| Kip06 Tuesday, April 6, 2010: 9:53 pm | My two daughters have gone through the Martinsville School System, and I have no complaints with the job that Dr. Furniss has done. Certainly, he has made a terrible error in judgment, but it should not spell the end of his career. The man needs compassion, forgiveness, and a second chance. |
