| Coach gets tickets on way to celebration | |
| LuLu Monday, June 4, 2012: 10:20 pm | Sure the coach thought what could the harm be by loading up the back of a pick up with several children who are unrestrained.....but do you really think he would have done it had he thought of the potential harm and risk he was putting them in, and that potentially he would be the one responsible for creating a senseless tragedy in the lives of everyone involved. He would have had to answer to the parents who could have lost a child to death or sustained serious lifelong injuries. On the flip side, if a tragic event had happened everyone would be outraged that an adult loaded up the back of a truck with children and put them in harm's way. One risky move, one impulsive action, one person's disregard for the law....could change the lives of these young people forever and also this driver's life. I'm glad the officer brought it to the driver's attention because just because everyone is doing it or has always done it doesn't make it right. |

| LuLu Thursday, October 20, 2011: 1:44 pm | Hats off to Mayor Deckard and the Martinsville City Council for all their time and energy in bringing this company to town. Hopefully, we will see more new businesses coming into Martinsville. We all know how great a community Martinsville, and it is time for others outside Martinsville to know! |
| Company to bring $12.6 million facility to Martinsville | |
| LuLu Saturday, April 30, 2011: 7:58 pm | Just another reason it is so important for folks to have an understanding of the important role TIFs play in the development and growth of a community. TIFs can set the stage for continued growth in Martinsville. I'm glad the concept of TIFs was explained in the article because there has been so much inaccurate information being shared about TIFs recently. We need available resources for living and rehabilitation. In addition, sounds like it could definitely be a source of employment for folks in Martinsville. Hats off to all those involved! |
| City council candidates answer chamber survey | |
| LuLu Friday, April 29, 2011: 10:55 pm | Hey Outsider...did you realize Hogan is uncontested in Tuesday's election, and the GOP Mayoral race is the only contested Mayoral race? Let's do that debate in the Fall. Just saying....now go wonder about punctuation, run-on sentences, spelling and reading comprehension. You are making this too much fun! |
| City council candidates answer chamber survey | |
| LuLu Thursday, April 28, 2011: 9:02 pm | After listening to Meet Your Candidates, it is pretty clear that the Mayor is the only candidate who has an understanding of the city's current situation, and even more importantly, has a working plan to move forward and grow the city. People have come to expect the negative campaign tactics of the Former Mayor. If only he would spend more time discussing pertinent issues that are important to the city. I like it that he refers to himself as the "former mayor"....let's keep it that way. Then there's Vic....he is so preoccupied with Holloway that he can't share his plan for the city. I believe Deckard is the only one who has conveyed an effective plan of action and growth for the city. Yep, Deckard's the man with a plan. |
| Ferguson wants to give back to city where he was raised | |
| LuLu Thursday, April 28, 2011: 8:10 pm | It is good to see a young businessman wanting to step up and take an active role in improving and growing his community. Best of luck to you! |
