I'm just so tired of the 'just give me a more bigger guns and I'll blast those bad guys away' stuff that is being spouted by Rambo wannabes. There are reasonable things we can do to lessen the carnage without trampling on the rights of normal gun owners. We need to be doing some serious talking and thinking about what those things might be.

Lots of excuses for why they neglected/starved the dogs to death, trashed a house and lost custody of their child is all I see. Too bad the Humane Society didn't take his animals before he killed them. I sure hope CPS does a better job looking after their baby.

Coach gets tickets on way to celebration

The coach may well be a very nice person. However, you cannot say that he would never do anything to put those kids in danger ... because riding in the back of a truck does put them in danger. And the adults were serving as bad examples by not wearing their seat belts either. We are supposed to be teaching our kids to make good decisions ... not bad ones like this. The smart mouth remarks to the police officer were icing on the cake of idiocy and if my child had been exposed to this whole mess I would not be happy. I rode to many after ballgame celebrations in my day long ago and so did my daughter. Never were we transported in the back of a pick-up truck. Even back in the 'old days' we knew it wasn't safe. If this has been going on in Martinsville then it is way past time somebody put a stop to it ... before somebody gets hurt badly.

Some of you seem to have the mistaken idea that it is his job to promote your religious views instead. Perhaps your efforts would be more appropriately directed to helping to stop things like adultry, abuse and divorce within your own religious institutions?
