If you truly believe that the ballot was wrong then you need to notify the Secretary of State's Office so an official investigation can be conducted. I find it hard to believe your story as there have been no other reports of that happening to others.

Mooresville Citizen, on the ballot that I voted on during the election there could be only write in voting on Congressional offices as the State and under balloting would not allow for write in's. A decision made by Mayfield. On my ballot which was on a voting machine there were two congressional house of representatives who appeared. Why don't you check precinct to precinct and see if more than one appeared in precincts, because in the precincts where Rokita is the Representative, then the other congressional district should not have appeared. She didn't take the time to set the ballots correctly per precinct.

Ms. Allen, you obviously read this paper and read the notice of the application process. In that same story it stated "At the caucus, the candidates will have three minutes each to say why they should be selected as the new county clerk."

Check for yourself.

By the way, I didn't show up with a speech, because I was told it was a vote, not a place to stand up and show my talents as a speech writer. Perhaps if those points of view had been vocalized during the vote, it might have not been a zero vote, morons.

Ms. Allen, do you not get that Morgan County is in two congressional districts? That's why you see two congressional candidates on the election summary for the entire county. And it is an election summary, not a ballot.

Johnson and his supporters don't appear to have jobs, or lives for that matter. So yes, when they don't see the Don Adams supporters out, you like to call them "lazy." More like they are working to support you all!

Don't you have a BAR exam to study for, a couple of kids to chase around, a Party Chairman to dance for or several worthless Facebook pages to post to that nobody reads?

What the heck are you talking about? Got me confused with somebody else apparently. Typical though as you are confused and wrong about so many things.

Voter trusts Elliott

I believe Daniel Elliott, despite not having any governmental experience, would do a fine job in office. He is genuine and hard-working. And has good values.

Now, Adam Johnson is another character altogether. He claims as his governmental experience the time he spent protesting and raking over the Madison Township mess. How does that make one qualified to hold a county office? Personally, I think he would be great as the Madison Township Trustee. And it would be a great start for him politically. But he's not ready to handle the county issues yet.

And of course you'll say this is contradictory because Daniel Elliott doesn't have experience either. But the fact is he has been working with Ralph Foley for the past year or so as his campaign advisor until Foley decided to retire. Daniel was by Foley's side and was able to learn a great deal about the workings of the statehouse. Add to that he is a small business owner, having been in business for several years, his ties to the local community, father of 4, horse farmer, having been involved with local officials and party leaders for years, and the fact that he is just a good person; well, that makes for a fine candidate for office.

I know many people like Mayfield, but there are many more who don't. And if you want the back story, look at her campaign finance report. Who will she be representing if elected? The 15 or so people in the district who donated to her campaign? The few paid campaign workers who also live outside the district? Or will she represent the insurance PACS, insurance companies, big corporations, and others outside the district who financed this fiasco? You have to wonder where her loyalties lie. The voters will decide who they want representing them, or not representing them.

You all should also know that Arvin Hopkins did not write this letter and has given Daniel Elliott permission to place signs on his property. That's what happens when you play dirty. It backfires.

Gest, it does appear that Peggy does her job well. But those on the inside know how things are run and it's not pretty. She is unorganized, snobby, demanding, loses papers all the time, talks down to people, thinks she knows everything, and so many times is unprepared because things are done last minute. Those who have worked with her all see that.

She's snubbed so many people over the years that there is no way she can win an election without intimidation.

Rat, but you are perfectly willing to vote for someone who is incompetent in her current position? And feels she has to rely on others to intimidate the candidates in order to win an election? Pathetic.

Mr. Remster, I know Daniel Elliott and am familiar with the incident. Daniel was not attempting to place a sign on your property. He saw all the other signs there and pulled in to check out the area and had every intention of researching the matter to see who did own it. Of course, he quickly learned it was private property when he was nearly accosted by Perry King. Perhaps you should have given more thought and chosen a more diplomatic person to govern your property. Mr. King was very rude and threatening to these nice men. His actions that day and your condoning of it does not speak well for either of you. You should be ashamed to have allowed such harassment on your property. I appreciate you bringing this matter to the attention of the good people of Mooresville. Now they know the kind of vile and rude people who support Peggy Mayfield. And what you have done is merely prove that the Mayfield team will resort to anything to win this election.
