Spare me - he lied plain and simple. He's not the only officer who has lied to make charges stick. I get really tired of hearing how these are "good christians". I thought "good christians" along with police officers weren't supposed to lie.

You might be surprised to know I personally have never spoken with Mr. Tom Whitley. I don't need to run from anyone, I am an adult and have gladly taken responsibility for anything I have done. The thing I don't do is lie to make myself look better. What part of a police officer lying makes him such a honorable man? He swore not to lie but he has ADMITTED that he did in fact lie. If you can not make an arrest without lying to make it happen then you're not much of a police officer.

Mooresville didn't lose anything except for someone who is willing to lie when he has sworn not to. We are supposed to be able to trust that police are always truthful. How can you trust a liar? He's not the only Mooresville officer who is willing to lie to make a charge stick. They need to take a look at all of them and get rid of the rest that are willing to lie. They are not all bad but there are more who are liars.
