As stated previously, I also would like to find out more about Brock's training in business administration. As we're all aware this could range in anything from a basic math class to a complete business degree

NoWhat Cityliving is saying, is as stated, "I am wondering if Brad Wilson or Ryan Ferguson are smart choices, if we are wanting Change for our students. Ryan is the grandson of the mayor and Brads'employment is with the city Police Dept. I just think that there is possiblity of a conflict of interest with these positions and this newly elected school board member. If we want to take a stand we need NO conflicts of interest!" I too have to find concern over that issue.

What I am concerned about is that Brock speaks very little about any business skills. However, as far as a leader, I do know that he started the EMS Association and they're 501C3. He also wrote quite a few grants to put those heart things in the schools and police cars and he has overseen Lifestar EMS and budget for several years now.

Perhaps it was wrong of me to ask. Did not mean anything by my question whatsoever. Perhaps it was his own choosing in order to spend his daylight hours with the intentionn of serving his campaign and our local schools. Have to appreciate anyone who doesn't put themselves first. Simply wondering. Good luck to all our candidates its easy to see (at least from the ones I've read thus far that they have the best interest of the community at hand.

Personally, I appreciate all willing to come forward and serve. However, I think that we too as voters have a responsibility to seek and discover as much as possible about who we choose to entrust with the care of our students.

Shane, how ignorant. Do we always do something just because it's the way we've always done it? Hello Morgantucky!! Thank God Officer Richards interceded before a group of kids were hurt or killed. All in all, lax on Martinsville Artesian Little League Board. We have a problem when we place fun over the safety of our kids.

MSD school board accepts Wolf's resignation

the matter was first called to the board’s attention on May 11 of last year.
“We immediately notified you as our school board, and filed a report with Child Protective Services. We investigated that situation and other rumors and could find no substantive evidence to support them,” Furniss said. “And here we are today.” So, this is suspected and it is allowed to continue? I am curious as to what procedures were followed in the investiagation. If it were actually investigated, we as a community have a right to know the procedures whcih were followed in the investigation. I know that had Martinsville High School, it's administration, and our school board accepted the offer, the HS staff would have been proactive and been trained in advance of a child choking to death in the hallway. I also know that had the Martinsville School System agreed to accept training in active shooter drills ahead of time, again as was offered early last year, the shooting may have also not happend, instead of saying, "it will never happen here". Although how can we expect our school superintendent to be proactive when he himself is a convicted criminal? Perhaps if he had been held accountable to higher standards the Wolf incident would not have occured. "Board president Kenny Costin said the board’s decision was based on the fact that to terminate Wolf would mean more taxpayer dollars would be going to pay administrative leave and health insurance for the tenured teacher." Would mean more taxpayer dollars would be going to pay administrative leave and health insurance for a tenured teacher? What kind of price is the board placing on the education of morals and the safety of our students? The cost here is that kids are being taught that there is no remorse when the school system itself behaves badly. Out of all the students, particularily with the education they're receiving you mean to tell me that one of them won't think that it's okay now to commit such an immoral act with no remorse? What kind of price is our school board placing on our children's education and safety. Yes, maybe the girl whom the big, bad wolf was found with is a graduate, but she wasn't at the time this initiated. One has to concern themselves with whether Wolf, and perhaps even other members of our school facualty may have been immorally involved with other students. I think we as the citizens of Martnisville have a right to know the evolution of the continued State Police investigation. "Board members encouraged the students to report any incident that they know about to their principals.

There is a system for reaching the board, but first students and parents should take their concerns to the school principal, Costin said.

“Once they’ve taken it to the building principal, then Dr. Furniss will take it and if they still aren’t satisfied with the way it is handled, they can bring it to the board,” he said."

Report it to the principal? What if the issue involves the principal? And then to the superintendent? What if it involves the superintendent? Obviously the only one the superintendent is accountable to is the police, which we have already discovered. What is this teaching our children. I can't say that I have ever been more proud of Trey Carr and Andy Manley for standing up for what they believe in. Thank you boys. In the end, it's all about accountability. Who is the school board accountable to? The citizens of Martinsville, it's time for some firing and hiring of dependable representatives. I promise you, my name will be on the ballot. As for you Mr. Wolf, you have destroyed the quality morals which Coach Wooden had instilled into our community.

Mooresville schools have active shooter drills, why don't and when did Martinsville schools last have them. The high school didn't want CPR classes for their facualty when offered at absolutely no charge until a student died in the hallway with a hamburger in his throat. I personally encouraged Martinsville schools to do active shooter drills earlier this year and was told, "Oh, it will never happen here".

B.S. What lies, students stated that they in fact did see the individual right outside the window. Another students received a note stating, "you're going to wind up just like Chance, only dead". I am ashamed of our school Admin. Martinsville does NOT practice active shooter training drills in the school. Why don't one of you reporters ask when they last did practice them? Mooresville and Monrovia practice them. Facts are facts!! Do the lives of our students not mean more to you? Perhaps you're in the wrong line of work. This is definately a case of neglect of a dependent".

Miss Johnson, if you spent as much time studying the issues you complain about instead of rushing to write about them perhaps you'd have a better understanding. I have known Mr. Hornaday for a number of years and find him to be an honest and fair individual. Also, as stated this was a procedure Brown Twp. had conducted for a number of years even prior to Mr. Hornaday's administration. The State Board of Accounts say's that funds may be dispersed to aide in improving the function of the township and it's departments. Can you honestly say that these dinners failed to aide in the function of this fire department? These are people who place their lives on the line for our sake. May I encourage you to seek further interpretation before jumping to your computer. I would also offer kudos to Mr. Hornaday and his Admin. Assistant for the issues they straightened out which could have costed the township greatly from their previous administration had they not taken their time and talents to save us, their tax payers the money. SHAME ON YOU MRS. JOHNSON!!

What's wrong with the world today? We've all become too self sfficient. Irregardless of which case involving our city we are speaking of, there are at least two pieces of scripture which relate. They are as follows...

Proverbs 18:13 "Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish".

John 8:7 "Let he among you who is without sin to cast the first stone".
