MSD of Martinsville discusses arming teachers

As a parent of a teacher, I am strongly in favor of this, I have been saying this since the Newtown shootings. If not the teachers, than the principals, which my son, is in school now to become a principal. Seems like in every school shooting, the principal is the one to get shot first as their office is usually near the front door and would be the first one to encounter this crazy person. I would feel so much better knowing that my son or daughter had at least a chance to defend themselves. I know we are thinking of the children here. but we need to think of all the people these shootings effect, the family of the teachers too. If we are worried about the costs, how much is it going to cost to have a guard on duty? Each school should see who would volunteer to carry a gun, rather a teacher, a custodian, a principal, get them the proper training, if they do not already have it, which I would be surprise if some of them already are trained. Please really consider this idea, as a parent, I would feel so much better.
