| Sunny Monday, October 22, 2012: 8:52 am | Lassiter, I was first compared to Obama so, you opened the door...I'll get down in the dirt and "waller" around using a cynical and sarcastic attitude if you like! I happen to excel at it. So accusing me of 2nd grade tactics doesn't carry much merit here with you! :-D Yes, Bluecollar did bring up unions, however, Ratcatcher was the one to bash them as he has a history of doing so! If you were more attentive you would have noticed I pointed that out! :D Agreed Mars works! :) My parents have never influenced me in an election, my own spouse didn't (as I stated earlier) I explained how I arrive at my decisions without endorsements AND I STAND BY MY STATEMENTS! I bet you're the silent but deadly type, that leaves the room after doing so. |

| Sunny Monday, October 22, 2012: 8:40 am | Ratcatcher, Perfect context in which I use that verse... You don't like the negative aspect it shines on you, so you say... "Interesting context in which I use it" to spin it to make me look someone using it "Out of context". Yes it is petty to correct misspelling, I used to care and try to be very careful and scrutinize myself but hey... Auto correct, fat fingers, and a voice to text app are a deadly combination for blogging with a phone... As much as I text and see misuse of the English language on a daily basis "I COULDN'T care less anymore. Seriously... lets go back and talk about Jim Cahill. I pointed out his self professed pro-life and pro-gun stance and all you could talk about was his signs. I did agree if he is indeed doing that and it's the truth than it's wrong. I went to the discussion about unions because you keep bashing them and bringing it up, and you don't like when someone disagrees with you on the subject. I noticed YOU don't want to look at the negative side of endorsements!!!! I won't let someone point down a dark alley and say "Walk that way" I'm going to ask "Why? who are you that I should listen to you about someone else?" I could do the research on my own or simply go talk to the person if I had the opportunity. In a similar fashion I hear people repeating the propagandist Rush Limbaugh all the time and it makes me sick! Idiots! I know you won't change your mind about Unions, however, be prepared if I nail you for crap you spout off about them that isn't true!! You're last question: I'm already helping a candidate, and if he/she were endorsed by anyone (and they are) I STILL COULDN'T care less. In a local election, I would say "here is he/she's contact info", and this is where he/she stands on this issue. There is no reason anyone can't personally talk to or hear he/she speak, in local elections that is. I VOTE AGAINST MY OWN UNION'S ENDORSEMENTS YOU DING!! No Rat... I don't care about endorsements. I hope this post is more to your grammatical tastes. |

| Sunny Sunday, October 21, 2012: 12:40 pm | Mr Ried, Ooops...I mean Lassiter, It isn't there Nancy. Pass it and read it later, or in this case say it's there and try to find it later and if it isn't there just say it is. If it was there you would have quoted/referenced it. You would love nothing more than to throw it in my face. He/She is "Hollering" about unions at this point. I pointed them out but you must have conveniently missed them. Now that I've said that you can take your time to study and spin it to your own advantage if you like. I'm pleased to hear you liked my personal testimony. :) Not sure of your warped since of humor. I always was partial to Mars, I hear it was once colonized by union members and that is why it's now a barren and desolate place, not capable of sustaining life. :-P #3. Ahh...I claim to not be that way in any fashion. My own spouse didn't influence me any way. So I guess I am a liar by your standards. I do listen and do fact checking but don't throw my pearls to pigs. Please stop yawning it's contagious. |

| Sunny Saturday, October 20, 2012: 5:15 am | Sorry.. 3. You asked I answered, perhpas I should have been more specific. The people I was referring to was those that base their votes on what another group/politician endorses. I don't do that. Ratcatcher claimed only to in a limited fashion. So... |
| Donnelly: Time to work together | |
| Sunny Saturday, October 20, 2012: 5:13 am | Lassiter, 1. Yes you do. You WOULD waster your time cause you can't go through the history of either looking at "More from Ratcatcher" or searching threads...cause it isn't there., 2. You're on here enough to know his/her history of union bashing in a lot of threads, and as far as this thread, Okay... REALLY?! But lets not talk about teachers going on strike and auto unions driving up the cost of American made cars. Most doctors spend half of their career paying off their education loans that total over $100K. How much in student loans does the average union worker have to pay back?
My friend that is a local teacher still has $35k in student loans from receiving his masters in education. He wants to be a principle and cares about his job and wants to change things and cares that children receive an education. My student loans are paid off, and a lot of us at our shop have 2 and 4 year degrees, granted however it's not related to our field or work. Unions don't drive up the cost of goods or services and we aren't uneducated, hicks, marching to the beat of a socialist drum holding people hostage!! I didn't go to school to be a doctor, HENCE I don't make as much as a doctor!! Quite Frankly, I shouldn't! I'm not searching for a cure for cancer or saving people's lives. |

| Sunny Friday, October 19, 2012: 10:49 am | Lassiter, You recall incorrectly...it was never answered, and probably never will be oh well. Yes, he/she has bashed unions in all the ways I described. It's hard to deny what's in black and white. You sound like Nancy Pelosi, just deny, deny, deny and eventually the press will move on to another question/subject. The others? Seriously... Well Rat answered it, so I may be wrong. He claims he doesn't base his entire vote over what an advocacy group endorses. |
| Beware ‘conservative’ Dem. | |
| Sunny Friday, October 19, 2012: 10:43 am | Ratcatcher, Did I say I was voting for him? Just trying to understand your ironies.. You heard him speak once? Ever call him up, stop by his booth, look at his website, or info at least? Doesn't sound like it to me. Don't know about this signage on private property deal. If it is to be the truth then I will agree with you that it is wrong. My union endorses people, family and friends, along with all these advocacy groups... I could care less. I approach them all and hear what they have to say, and if they have been in office look at their record. Welch's record speaks for itself, the groups you speak of historically throw "their lot in with whomever has the "R" behind their name. They are welcome to it... Mrs. Welch doesn't have to say anything or do anything to get elected other than be herself as she has done since she has held the office. She has ran a clean campaign, bucked her own party for it, is pro-life, and pro-gun regardless of who gets what endorsement. Yeah...the choice is clear WELCH . |
| Beware ‘conservative’ Dem. | |
| Sunny Tuesday, October 16, 2012: 8:52 pm | RatcatcherWelch's latest mailer with her wearing her nurse uniform was cute and all but the spin factory obviously worked overtime on it's development. It tells me that I could care less what group endorses who! My vote isn't based on what a group of individuals or single mouth thinks. Endorsements... Think for yourself. For one who promotes individualism I'm sure not impressed. I look at each candidate accordingly. I guess that throws out Jim Cahill (A pro-life member of the NRA) along with Welch who supports these things cause some mouth in Bloomington wrote a piece to this paper, or some group took a vote over coffee one morning. If/when the republicans take off to another state over an issue you support and/or affects you personally you'll be right behind them. You, and others like you make me sick. |

| Sunny Tuesday, October 16, 2012: 8:37 am | Ratcatcher, Uhh...hack? You still haven't and won't answer my question about you giving the same political analysis from the Welch/Mayfield conversation of ours. I own and 11 year old Chevy pickup. All I have done is change the battery, and a hub bearing. I would say about a total cost of 450 dollars in the 8 years I've owned it. My aunt owned a Toyota that was junk and cost her a lot. There is good and bad in all vehicles regardless of labor status, foreign or domestic. So that washes that argument out... You mentioned your laid off or have been? If your company received a bailout and you could keep your income and benefits going and support your family (which you obviously love) I suspect you would be singing a different tune. Even secretly...and perhaps be looking for a different place of employment that didn't require a bailout. I'm not a big fan of bailouts for any company but I will look at it from the workers side and the communities that the jobs are in. Not left or right on the issue, just being realistic. The union bashing gets old, along with the implying that we are uneducated, brainwashed socialists, that deserve to be fired IF we happen to strike. I don't bombard people for a non-union status. It's their choice. |
| Donnelly: Time to work together | |
| Sunny Monday, October 15, 2012: 8:35 am | Blue Collar, He won't. He's very anti-union. I've dealt with people like this across the table, fought them protesting legislation against lobbyists/anti-union politicians that limit and weaken bargaining power over my working career, been called a socialist, exploiter, greedy person in my personal life. I am not sure what to think of it, call it jealousy, superiority, or simple misunderstanding... I don't know. Someone working a job for minimum wage or just a little higher looks at union members as "You're making 20-25 dollars an hour with benefits?... oh you poor baby" Then there is management (most of them)... they sure as daylight don't like us, and feel it's disgusting to even have to deal with us. Union members are pretty much on their own as far as understanding. The history and facts show that Union wages set the bar across the board for most working people. The non-union shops have to pay a similar wage/benefit package and treat them fairly or they will unionize or take their skills and go work for someone else. Then there is management's attitude. "Shouldn't I be making more than the people I am supervising?" Answer: Yes! Hence the more we make the more supervision makes. Then there is the mentality of most white collar professional/higher education jobs... Because of their years of study, personal monetary investment, and intelligence, shouldn't they make more than a skilled labor profession? Answer: Yes I and most would agree that they should! If you bargain for you wages/benefits as an individual, propose to leave if you don't get what you want that's free enterprise, but if you do it in a group that's socialism... I don't get it. I don't see much difference between a union and a business association. Most companies that take their business to a third world country, bring it back here and it's a comparable price to what it was when they manufactured their products here. I don't care who you are NO American is going to work for $5.00 a day and a bag of rice, with no OSHA regulations, in slave conditions. I believe a couple of weeks ago the "Apple" compound in China had riots from their workers because of the deplorable conditions they "Force" them to work/live in. Ha! Going overseas to a communist country is called..."Free Enterprise"? Yet I'm a socialist. Then there is the "Right To Work" legislation, under the guise of giving workers "A choice". The slogan that has been around for years, that you see on commercials, or on bumper stickers..."Union by Choice", you have ALWAYS had the choice to be in a union at a union shop. Now this legislation FORCES a union to represent those equally and impartially that don't pay dues or belong to the union. The last time I checked if someone is FORCED to due something FOR FREE it was called SLAVERY!!!!!! That my friends is irrefutably un-American!! It'll never stop Bluecollar |

| Sunny Saturday, September 15, 2012: 7:55 am | Danny Stewart, I'll straight up tell you that we already have term limits...It's called an "Election". I suppose if someone (anyone) has done a bang up job for 14 years and his/her opponent is a buffoon we just simply vote for the latter! If a test has "Circle One, Yes or Purple" as an answer... you just circled purple. Going out of state to prevent legislation that is UN-AMERICAN and outrageous in my opinion is standing up for what is right! Side Note: This is what happens with partisan politics. The Republicans that sided with the Dems on the issues that brought about that drastic action was threatened at every political level. I believe they were called "Lunch Pale" republicans. One last thing, I didn't know I moved! If you would also be kind enough to let me know my new address I can go to the post office this morning and fill out a "Change of Address" form! Any Bigfoot sightings while on your paper route? |

| Sunny Wednesday, September 12, 2012: 8:23 pm | C'mon Rat!!! It's not that silly if you won't answer! |
| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Wednesday, September 12, 2012: 6:56 pm | NBI, I'm not letting it go... Rat, Nice try but wrong question. Now for the 7th time. Would you offer the same political analysis if the roles of the clean campaign signing were reversed? Again... To be abundantly clear, would you give Mrs. Mayfield the same criticisms if it was her idea, and Mrs. Welch refused to sign? You stated. Theory that Mrs. Welch was doing it as a ploy.. I'm addressing your bias toward your candidate. That's why you conjured things up. If the roles were reversed you'd simply give Mrs. Welch flak for not signing it. She is darned if she does and darned if she doesn't with you!! Yes or No? And um... Reading the websites, studying their political doctrine can be enough for me if it disagrees with my deep personal convictions! |

| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Wednesday, September 12, 2012: 4:50 pm | Your theory is also an imaginary!!!!!!!!!!! It's an opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN'T PROVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! As I side I can conjure up my own theories on Mayfield if I wanted to just as you have toward Welch! So with the yes or no question.... You bounce again. Yes, it's partisan crap when you demonize a person for not being a true "Something" for not falling lockstep in line with a party's platform or candidate. County chairman...testify to the person's voting record?????? So much for secret ballot! Mayfield maybe running a clean campaign.. THAT IS NOT THE QUESTION THAT I ASKED YOU!!!!!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!! You won't do it...you just won't HA! I love it when you guys go off on side track bunny trails to divert attention away from the question, then when you are done speaking you forget what the question was. Unbelievable! |
| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Tuesday, September 11, 2012: 4:39 am | Ratcatcher, Well, you're obviously not going to answer...so the prosecution rests your honor! The silence speaks for your bias. I asked a "Hypothetical question" to YOUR hypothetical theory. I could offer up hypothetical theories as to why Mrs. Mayfield WON'T sign it! Oh well, no since worrying about the signing of a pledge between the two candidates when they each have supporters negatively campaigning for them. |
| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Monday, September 10, 2012: 3:22 pm | Okay Welch: Because she is a conservative that supports a string middle class and will repeal "right to freeload" when the opportunity presents itself. The same for John Gregg. Why he picked Vi Simpson as his running mate I'll never figure out. Romney: That one's obvious I have yet to make my choice between Donnelly and Mourdoch. They both have said things I don't care for. Rokita: I've read literature not impressed with the Dem or Lib . Satisfied? Now Yes or No?? |
| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Monday, September 10, 2012: 2:58 pm | (sighs) Ratcatcher Again....would you be just as critical and give the same political analysis if Mayfield asked Welch to sign such a pledge... Doing so would only be right. YES OR NO? There is only two choices here. The other partisan crap I was referring to was you saying.."you say your a Republican I don't believe you" |

| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Monday, September 10, 2012: 12:45 pm | Ratcatcher, Stop bouncing around the table like one tracked mind liberals and conservatives do when they are loosing a debate or are faced with uncomfortable questioning!! It's not whether or not Mayfield would have such a reason to ask Welch to sign such a document! I am addressing YOUR BIAS TOWARD YOUR CHOICE CANDIDATE. Hypothetical or not it is a fair question for me to ask you!! AND by your unwillingness to answer such a simple "scenario", speaks for itself. What is good for the goose is good for the gander! A person can be a Republican and vote for whomever they want!! KNOCK OFF THE PARTISAN CRAP!! |

| Sunny Monday, September 10, 2012: 4:56 am | Ratcatcher, Plausible theory... I got a question for you? If this pledge was MAYFIELD'S idea...would you be offering the same political analysis? Or praising Welch for her resistance to sign??? .Lassiter, You once said Mayfield is not supported by her party, and Welch was and it was time for me to think about WHO the real "party" person was. Well, after Mrs. Welch's resistance to her party...?? You still like your political eggs scrambled? Salt and Pepper? |

| Candidates dispute clean campaign pledge | |
| Sunny Sunday, September 9, 2012: 1:23 pm | Fascinating! I to have received negative literature via mail against Mrs. Welch, however, not endorsed by Mayfield or her campaign but not denied. Should I hold that against her? That is a good question. I do like Mrs. Welch's stand with her own party (regardless of the party) to her personal integrity. It seems every election I have to sift through the garbage to get the facts. It's much easier to do so with local elections. As for the walk out trip to Illinois...hmm... Those who are critical of it, are usually the ones that were in support of the legislation that spurned such an action in the first place!! I say if it were their party or candidates doing the walking out over a piece of legislation they would support it!! Some will say "oh no no no, that's not me, that's just not true"... but I don't buy it. They may even go so far as to say it's wrong in front of their peers and colleges, but secretly be hoping that they stay the course! ESPECIALLY, if the legislation up to be passed affected them personally and was outrageous enough! It has been done by both parties before, our federal government has shut down a couple of times, what else is new. |
