Liberty,

Thank you for defending me at 18.

It was my honor; enjoy your freedom of speech and knowing that you can say what you want, true or false without the retribution from a Doctorial Government and the freedom to vote for which candidate/party you wish. I would gladly do it all over again.

Are you serious?
Not that I want to argue with a Pastor; if you truly are one, but for the love of Pete. There is no stone casting going on here. Being a medical Doctor and letting someone (you supposedly love?) die because of the lack of medical attention and then prescribing narcotics while knowing you medical license have been revoked.....if denouncing those actions or reporting those crimes in the news is throwing stones……..

I need a front end loader and a catapult please, I've got work to do.
Green Township seeks Rural Metro contract

No one does anything for free. If you don't like Rural Metro that's ok, I can appreciate different opinions. But don't compare apples to outhouses. My understanding is (correct me if I'm wrong) EMA has no paramedics, RM does. EMA is a basic life care service and RM is a advanced life service. (Martinsville's RM services are) stabilizing a patient and actually starting advanced care while en-route to a medical facility is a big difference, probably the reason for the difference in price. Time is of the utmost and ANY treatment is vital, but time with paramedics treating the patient going down the road increases survival tenfold. EMA are good dedicated people and I appreciate them, but times change and emergency health care has too. If EMA had paramedics on every run; common sense says their prices would go up too. The old adage;’ you get what you pay for’ couldn’t be truer.

Lassiter,
LOL.... how great is that!
Truth be known....I knew something was up. They said they were just 'playing around' but for several weeks I would stand outside their room and listen. I could hear what I thought was more monkeys and every once in a while I would hear one say.. " welcome to Dell service center"......and they would just bust up laughing.
Believe me the monkeys are watching these politicians closely......monkey poo may fly again.....soon

Amr and Liberty,All that you know is what you read in this lousy paper. Did anyone else know the officer who arrested Mr Hollis was already in trouble for falsifying police reports and charging people with bs charges and thats why he was at Verizon working security and not working the street? Ya the officer who arrested Mr Hollis has no credibility in Hamilton County Courts right now and thats why the plea was offered for PI because witnesses ( whom didnt know Mr hollis or that he was a cop) came forward and went under oath and said the truth which cleared Mr Hollis of the other charges! Get your facts straight before bashing a man and his reputation on a low line forum!

please present the facts about the arresting officer(s),( eight I believe were involved). I know a couple of Hamilton County LEO and they work the Verizon for extra income not as punishment for lackluster performance on the street. Just like our City and County LEO's work ballgames, security, special events.
Not bashing you...just asking for the proof you claim about the arresting officer(s).
If you have none, then I'd be careful friend. One's reputation is all that one has that truly belongs to ones self. Defaming it is quite actionable.

Not to be critical or to diminish from the persons views, but in Indiana; Mayor's are the top elected official of Cities not Counties. County Commissioners are basically the 'mayors' position in the County’s elected official’s hierarchy.

Frustration sets in during city budget process
Wilbur
Wednesday, July 14, 2010: 3:16 pm
I know this isn't going to be a very well liked idea, but here it goes. No pay increases for elected officials. The fulltime city employees should get an increase, as small as it might be, but little is better than none, and they deserve it. Hire the needed people to fill the empty positions. Public safety and City services are why I pay my taxes. The buy backs and the extra incentives can freeze this year, AND no raises for partime/summer employees. Use common sense here elected officials.......It's ok to ask for the moon knowing you aren't going to get it, but don't kick the dog when the cat did it. DEMAND some accountability from the State on our budget. Lay down and take it and you get everything you deserve. Get big Mitchie down here and lets ALL have a face to face with him. Martinsville has a history of doing good things with the money we have, don't add to the States mistake and join their mindset......Police, Fire, trash pick up and water/sewer services; this City can't run without them, Mayors and Council members...are you going to put my fire out? Fight crime? unplug my sewer and make sure my water is running and pick up my garbage?
we have some good elected officials, It's not a popular idea...., but let common sense dictate
State education cuts uncertain in 2011
Wilbur

I have read and I have heard about money saving cuts and money saving ideas for our Schools. I've been hearing where the powers to be are contemplating the idea to not teach cursive writing in our Schools anymore…... it’s been suggested; they are just going to teach the children how to write their name in cursive only so they can sign legal documents……. Good Lord
Cutting teachers,…… in Indy they have cut bus routes and last night they are thinking about CHARGING a fee to ride the bus to school…….. removing programs, spending TONS of money on non-educational projects and programs. I love sports and I believe they are a very important tool in character building and In teaching a child he can do what he thought he couldn’t do as an individual or in a team setting. But the money spent on it is out of control. Can you imagine the revenue spent on these sports (yeah I know parents do fund raisers too, been there done that, why can’t we do that for…lets say…books or meals for the truly needy child) stop building stadiums for High School sports, or maybe keep an old scoreboard or natural grass instead of turf…..the money not wasted…..we could have a child driven safely to school in a bus.
We have to quit dummying our future generation up.

The education of our Nation of our Nation should only be second to the National Defense of our Country. WISE up Daniels and Bennett, I don’t want my grandchildren to be as dumb as you guys are about this.
Just had to throw my two cents in….

Story Title: Hmmm Chocolate, or Why Did I Write That Silly Letter to the Editor

Scene 1: Wilbur knocking on Andrew's forehead

Line: Hello....Mc-not a clue, it's a business with standards, the owners do not want to sell sub par product and we as consumers appreciate it. This is a business with a wonderful history of excellence in confectionary delights. Keep up the good work Badgers!

Line: and another thing.....the cartoon would have been funny if the firemen had pike poles.....

Scene- center stage: crowd looks at Andy in sad silence because he doesn't get the joke.......

Curtain falls and everyone in audience feels sad for Andy.

Scene 2: Local Firefighters take Andy to a training fire and put a marshmallow on the tip of a pike pole. Andy smiles like a fat kid eating cake.

Audience applauds loudly and smiles for the first time for Andy. They believe he gets it.

Line from Firefighters: YEAH for Andy!

Curtain closes, end of play

Here we go again. I'll tell you this, if it rains over 5-7 inches this town is going to sink. What the hell are we doing here? Holloway do you know anything??????

do you mean like in....manhole covers (52 of em)being to high but signed off on for the Morgan St. project... that they are going to FIX this year. Or the land slide at the housing addition on Lincoln street? Or like the sink hole on Ohio reet that plagued the City for years and SEVERAL repairs later ( to be continued?). Or the Garage Door frames on the NEW Fire Station that are rusting through already? You mean the guy that checks the contract work for the City, has been Project Manager for some and signs off on the finished products for payment on the Citys behalf?

Is that what you mean by "Holloway do you know anything?"

Me thinks me has the answer.................

Ed,
I believe there's a place reserved high on a mountain top for you. People will come....yes, they will. Dead nut on with your assessment on this; the County has lost its mind and Mr. Quyle is just one of the leaders of the parade. I hate it that Mr. Quyles generation is still falling into the 'my kingdom for your horse' politician. It's isn't his kingdom, but I'd gladly supply the horse. I'd point it north and slap it's flanks to get him going.
The County bought this house to tear down (no other thought given when they bought it I guess) and it seems ever since they took the heat, they have been trying to pawn it off for every little office; museum and meeting place that has came up.
I'd like to make this suggestion; why not make it a retirement home for old decrepit politicians.....seems such a natural choice to me.

Very well stated and so very true.
