The ISTEP: A test that’s not passing the test

These decisions have already been made and made into law that will never be revoked without serious overhaul. Who do you blame now?

60% free and reduced - and 92% passing is damn good. However, this is a flawed test and the rules are stacked against public schools. Case in point, school should have had 100% and rules made it impossible.

Read through the parental comments here: We want smaller class sizes, less freedom, more rigor. Hum, imagine if we could implement that in public schools? You know, the ones we already have? The ones we're destroying to have more testing and less freedom? Wow.

We can do this with what we have if people would engage and tune into what's going on and what's at stake. Get rid of your schools, and you've cut off your town - especially this one.
ISTEP results should be scrapped this year

Yes, they should be scrapped BUT school grade, teacher pay and voucher system all part of scores on these worthless tests. And, by the way, both our legislators voted for vouchers and more testing.

Everyone in education said this would happen and it has. The legislature ignored it and gave MGraw-Hill a $100 million contract. Make sense? Nope. But, makes them a lot of money.

No one in their right mind would go into education in Indiana. Record retirement and record decrease of math and science and reading teachers across the country.

What happens when the test we count for everything, don't work? Who is held accountable now?

This is out of hand and out of this world crazy.

This is mind boggling. So, my tax dollars are being taken from my local school (which hurts my local community) and given to fund a private school that has an F ranking?

This is what happens when the public doesn't know what is happening behind closed doors.

Bust them up so we can have no healthcare, no living wages, no standard of living. In the old days they would just bring in scabs or immigrants, now they just move shop to China or Mexico. Never for unions protecting "lazy" worker but working men and women need a voice and now the Chamber of Commerce and corporateers have workers right where they want them - exactly like it was at turn of 1900's. No rights, no wages, no voice. No one will laugh when they can't afford to even live in towns like Martinsville anymore. You live in a union, marriage is a union, God, son, Holy Ghost a union, but God forbid you belong to one.

Um, she is pro-life - it's the sole reason she was not even allowed to run for Vi Simpson's senate seat. She's pro-God, pro-gun, pro-traditional marriage and for education. She's also the only practicing cancer nurse in the GA.

But, nice try.

I say have Obama and Romney be co-presidents and give the billions they are going to spend to charities. Save us lots of money and time and BS.

Neither one of them would please 50%+ of the country no matter what.

And, by the way Ron, Jesus wouldn't belong to either party. The Bible clearly states those who covet wealth and money are wicked and will not enter the pearly gates.....those who don't love thy neighbor - those who don't treat "aliens" as their own, etc. etc. etc.

I know you already know this. And, I am sure you also know Jesus hung out with prostitutes and lepers and the absolute scuzz of the earth when here. He loved them all.

And, how much longer do you think electoral paralysis is going to serve us?
