Unequal playing time is unfair

Sportsfan let me just say that we were not born and raised here either. Our child has worked their way through the ranks and paid their dues so to speak. We believed that they too had forged a name for themselves. Our child was taken out of the game and replaced by another player who literally threw their hands in the air gestering towards the coaches because they didn't know the play. We have never backed anyone with money or promises. We gone on faith that a child would be recognized on God given talent. We've offered to speak with the coaches in regards to our concerns, but our child is afraid of retaliation by the coach if "mom and dad interfere". Let me end in saying this if the coaches believe that they are doing these kids a "solid" and playing them even though they missed or are late to practices, come unprepared, are disrespectful, or do just enough to get by but they're not. When these kids are no longer the "greatest" or are injured and unable to play, they're going to have to rely on "real life". No employer is going to allow you to be late or not show up and keep your job. No employer is going to allow you to forget or lose the laptop they've issued to you and unless you want fired or jailed they're not going to allow disrespect in the workplace. So the coaches are actually doing a disservice to these kids. For a town that has been blessed with coaches such as the great John Wooden you would think they would honor him by instilling in their players the same values that Coach Wooden instilled in his, but I guess those teachings are a thing of the past.

I agree 100% with simple man and moose 65. It is all about the donations, family name or who your related to and social status. It doesn't matter if you make every practice, never late, always have your equipment, go above and beyond practice for i.e. speed school and weightlifting the year before your even allowed to play, keep you grades up, gives a 110% all the time and respectable to the coaches your still left standing on the sidelines. Let me also add mocked and ridiculed during practice and I'm not just talking about constructive criticism I'm talking about degrading personal attacks in front of teammates almost creating a bullying siutation. When teammates see that it is okay for the coach to behave in that manner the kids believe its also acceptable to "poke fun" during the day.Sportsfan what is the reward for those who work hard and still get the shaft? To show them no matter how hard you work you still can't get ahead? I know several who put in the time, hard work, and effort and it has yet to pay off. The only thing that happens is that the kids lose respect for the coaches because someone who is in the position of authority you would expect them to do the right thing, loses the love for the sport, and feels beaten down and defeated. If they're not "good enough" then cut them from the team and save everybody the frustration.
County insurance trust raises employee cost in face of increases
idk

I realize that insurance premiums are increasing for everybody not just myself. Here are my questions, Why is that the County does not offer any wellness incentives? The County insurance does not offer any kind of wellness programs such as a stop smoking program etc. I would think that it would be better to cover a $25 flu shot versus a hospital bill of $2,000 or more when they end up in the ER. Why does the County not pro-rate the premiums according to the number of dependents? For example, an employee who has 2 children covered by insurance pays the same as an employee who has 6 children. These are just a few of the many questions I have. Also, it would have been nice to receive the letter prior to the change or vote so that the employees could have offered up some suggestions and not read about it in the paper after the fact.
