Trout wants to continue offering skills to city

Maybe if the water company wouldn't have to pay over $5000 in fines every year for not doing their job on time, they would be one more step closer to being out of the red! But that's just my opinion!

When Trout introduced the idea of increasing the mayor’s salary by $10,000 for next year, a hike of more than 20 percent, council member Gordon Burgin said the council would have a hard time explaining that, particularly since full-time city employees would be receiving just a 1.3 percent increase.

‘How do you explain giving 1-1/2 percent to the employees and giving the mayor a big raise?” Burgin asked. “They’re getting $500 and you’re going to give the mayor $9,000 or $10,000.”

Trout said, “I don’t care if I’m a one-term councilman. ....When there are positions you’re over and they make more, that’s not right.”

Burgin said he didn’t disagree with the idea that the mayor should have a higher salary, but he made more as a worker than his supervisors’ received.

“The boss wanted,” Burgin said, “that position.”

Trout said the mayor’s salary needs to be $65,000.

“I don’t care,” Trout said, “what the percentage is.”

REMEMBER THIS TROUT?? Looks like you'll get your wish!! ONE TERM!!!

So let me get the straight! You want to freeze hiring, cut raises and raise the water bills? And exactly why should we vote for you? The budget is being cut yearly, but yet you still voted to raise the mayors salary considerably, which I'm sure is the part of the 80-85% you two agree upon! And you were out at 5am putting out sandbags?? I'll just leave that one alone! I know for a FACT that's a lie! Shame on you!!!
