Short sighted, vision-less attitudes have been and will be the death of Martinsville. People in Noblesville fought annexation 25+ years ago when I lived there. Look at Noblesville today. God forbid the City have a little long term planning in place to try to capitalize on the new interstate.

With the arguments these "any government is bad government" fanatics are ranting, it's a wonder there is any town with a population greater than 20,000!

Still same thing...City has no clue why they are doing this...this One Horse town is dead!

Failing to plan is planning to fail. The City leaders have finally made a wise strategic move to take advantage of I69 and give the City a chance to attract professional, high paying jobs to the City. The naysayers exhibit the "change averse" attitude that has held Martinsville back for too many years. As a lifelong resident, I am glad to see the City finally making some bold moves!

The lake and common lots will become the private property of the conservancy district. The city will not be paying any of the assessments (dues) to the CD; thus, it will not have rights to lake and other areas. It will be as it was when the development was originally started.
