Paragon, Nash argue water bills

The accounting process and procedures that the town clerk uses is elementary, and should not be that difficult to understand, in my opinion. The computer system was added just two years ago. Therefore any records prior to two years ago are written on paper, so I have been told, and Debbie Ellis says that it would take forever to find them, "if they are actually in storage". I have repeatedly asked to have a copy of my usage and payment records for the past few years, but they can't be found, (except for the most current 2 years). Since Debbie Ellis began in January, the records have not been accurate and she could not show the exact amount of usage that I had actually used for two months. I have had my share of misunderstandings and dealings with the town clerk, Debbie Ellis. It has been a nightmare to say the least.

I am extremely unhappy about the rate increase, but I have no alternative, but to pay the increase, or I will have no water or sewer.

Kerry Nash should be given some consideration in his situation because they have not kept accurate records and he should be given credit for what has been paid by his tenants.

Also, Debbie Ellis, Evelyn Zollar and the town board talk about the previous clerk, Vickie not having accurate records, and they have made statements accusing her of not telling the truth. In my opinion, many of the problems were already in existance when Vickie took over the position, and she certainly did her best to try to work with the paying customers on payment arrangements and so forth, so their water would not be shut-off. I do not believe that the people in office today should be spouting-off about someone not telling the truth, and bashing them to everyone in the community. Especially when Debbie Ellis has lied to me personally since she was "voted" into office on more than one occasion.

So not looking forward to tomorrow's meeting introducing the new ordinance for the "adjustment" of the sewer and water rates.
Annexation meeting format rankles residents

If this annexation is passed, you can guarantee (without a doubt) that the salaries for Mayor Deckard and his comrads/city and county officials will also see a padded paycheck. I know that the salaries of the city and county officials are public, but do you know how much Mayor Deckard is paid annually. Wow! And he has his side work as a realtor/auctioneer/public speaker (with alot of free advertising in his position) to help increase his annual earnings.

Ultimately, it is all about money. The property taxes will increase, the water and sewer services will increase every year, the required water tap connection fee will increase every year, and so on. And yes, people will lose their homes, and not be able to afford to feed their families, and not be able to pay the outrageous cost for the water and sewer so they will be shutting the services off, and people won't be able to pay for the gas to drive to work to pay for these increases. It's a sad situation. But know this, the city and/or county officials do not care about the residents in this community, and what challenges this will place on the residents affected by this annexation.

Obviously, the way the meeting was handled was ridiculous and a facade to confuse the public by not allowing an appropriate meeting agenda. Whose decision was it to set-up the structure of this meeting?

Thank God I do not live in this area of Washington Township, but I have complete sympathy for those that do. I will be attending the meeting on June 4th!
