Daniels: Teachers should consider a pay freeze

| A Hoosier Thursday, February 18, 2010: 2:16 pm More from A Hoosier | Concerned Parent, I appreciate what you are saying. However, I must disagree with the mandate requiring background checks on everyone involved with the children. When I managed nursing homes, we too, were required to do background checks on every employee and volunteer. I can honestly say it saved me alot of heartache. The last thing we need is a murder, rapist, drug dealer, or sexual offender working in our school corporations. Trust me, it's worth the ten bucks. |
| Liberty Thursday, February 18, 2010: 3:33 pm More from Liberty | I don't want to beat a dead horse but Reading Concerned's comment made me think that we can learn all we could ever want to on what happens when the Government tries to run anything. The teachers can tell you what that has meant to their ability to be effective in the class room. That's why I am so adamant about pursuing Non-government run schools. Anything the government ties to manage is in a state of crap. Our founders designed the way government works and they didn't design it to be able to run a company efficiently. I for one think this was their guarantee that the governments intrusion into our lives and business could never be accomplished because they wouldn't be able to compete with the free enterprise. The Unions control politicians and that's why unionized government employees are so programed by their unions to hate privatization. They rightfully fear the private run companies that can't be pushed around or extorted for excessive pay and benefits like they can blindly squeeze the taxpayers for.The union controls politicians who pass laws to force government bodies to do what ever the new political fear of the day calls for. In education the new thing is to consider homosexuality as normal instead of a sexual perversion that it is. Now the schools are mandated to do certain things just because of a new fade of political correctness. Of coarse there is now way somebody can prove their homosexual so I call that special rights by arbitrary demand. Its a behavior. Now what are the teachers to do 10 years from now when the pedifiles continue to when in court and in the world of plublic opinions. Yep it going on now and when the first Homosexual or pedifile gets elected to higer office then that too will be forced on the government schools because that how it works. Politians run the schools not the educator. Hum.. but the educators hire a union to run the politians who run the schools the teachers who hired the union complain about ....OOOH wait... this is making me dizzy. If enough parent raised enough cane and started a political action group to only elect politicians who would force teachers to allow boom boxes blaring in the class room then guess what folks. You got it. All these things that politiaians hamper the system with cost big and thats why it cost so much more per child to educate them in the GEC vs Private schools. Even with Special needs. Most teachers see this and feel trapped. For the one or two conservative educators out there you understand fully what it means to not be with the program. The vile retaliation from many union thugs can make it hard to go to work for some. Yep they know what I'm talking about. I say all that to say this. I hope the reasonable can take lessons from the school system and consider what it would be like if they also took over our health care. We will find doctors coming on here saying the same things the teachers are saying because they will experience the same things. Except the loss's wouldn't be in our education. The wiser poeple of this country see and understand these things. And I hope we all can thank the lord they are in the majority. It's interesting to sit and talk about things with police officers and firemen in private. They sound a whole lot like teachers. . |
| Liberty Thursday, February 18, 2010: 4:36 pm More from Liberty | HUM... The bosses have spoken. Should teacher pay be frozen or cut to help schools make budget? Yes, freezing/cutting pay might save a few other teachers' jobs. 36% Yes, everyone is cutting to make ends meet these days. 30% No, teachers have an important job and deserve every penny. 21% No, they already don't make enough money. 12% This is not a scientific poll Looks very much like the vote on the Mooresville School buildings last year. 2/3 to 1/3. . |

LOL. How right you Mr. Liberty. Did you know that the Facebook people told all the kiddies to long on to the website and vote YES. We see where that got them in the real vote, huh. This poll won't be any different. The teachers will tell all their students tomorrow to log on and vote NO this time. |
| Reality Check Thursday, February 18, 2010: 8:22 pm More from Reality Check | I wish Anthem and WellPoint would run our schools, Liberty. They would demand the same high level of teaching and raise YOUR contribtuion 36% to pay them!!!!! Great example! Now you're thinking my way budro! |
