The school system's policy is zero tolerance for kids who use alcohol/drugs at school/school functions (remember last year's prom?) so it should be zero tolerance for a school administrator who students are supposed to look up to, trust, and listen to --- whose "error in judgment" just sent the absolute poorest message that could have been sent to every student ANYWHERE who happens to hear about this! Yes, everyone makes mistakes, everyone sins...blah, blah, blah! This is an official who KNEW BETTER and STILL GOT BEHIND THE WHEEL! THERE IS NOOOOOOO EXCUSE!!!!!! What would you all be saying if he had hit & killed someone? Oh, sure, then it would be different, right? If he KILLS someone, THEN he has to pay, right? I don't think so! In my mind, he's just lucky the cop stopped him BEFORE that happened! That is the only difference! He made a decision that put lives at risk - end of story!!! That included the lives of some MSD students --you know some were out & about at the time he was pulled over!!! He should resign, then resolve to thank God every day for the rest of his life that a cop stopped him from possibly hurting someone! You know, come to think of it...I was returning to Martinsville right around that time Saturday/Sunday and was probably headed to the same area he was headed! Geez, what's wrong with anyone who doesn't want him to resign????????????? If he doesn't, I hope every time he is around a student he is haunted by the thought, "what if I had killed this student?" |
