Another one worth reading again.

Tax his land; tax his bed; tax the table at which he is fed.
Tax his tractor; tax his mule; teach him taxes are the rule.

NI, Lass, Liberty, Wilbur and others:

I am seeking knowledge about Israel and the US and/or the Muslims and the Jews. Any insight into this subject would be greatly appreciated. I understand that President Obama and the Prime Minister of Israel are not getting along. What does this mean for the US?

If any of you are still home and not in Florida on spring break, I would appreciate a little help on the topic. Thanks in advance.

Peace.

Hoosier,

Best I can figure out is that obama mama is siding with the Palestinians/muslims instead of keeping our support strong for Israel. Then again, he did grow up in a muslim country.

As for the Jews and Palestinians themselves, they are the same race. Though they don't like each other, both will also tell you they are Hebrew. Most muslims though could careless for Israel.

As for Iran, yes they are a muslim nation but they are not Arab, they are Persians. Oddly enough, the Arab muslims don't like the Iranians/Persians either. Let alone that the different sects of the muslim religion don't get along with each other either unlike those of us of the Christian religion. We may not agree on every practice, but we aren't out killing each other over those differences either.

Hope that helps.

Hoosier. I have a different take on this subject. God promised to the Israelites that in the end, they would possess the land that He gave them. This includes not only the state of Israel as we now know it, put portions of other nations including Syria and Iran.

Things that the U.S. and other nations are doing to bring "peace" to the Middle East is not helping, if that means ceding to other nations any portion of the land that God has ordained for His people. Things are going to unfold in God's time for Israel to finally have back all of the promised land.

The beginning of the end started in the 40's when the U.S., under the leadership of Harry Truman, supported the establishment of the Jewish state, Israel. At that time His scattered people started to return. It is building toward the end. All the meddling by man is just temporary and mostly counterproductive.

Oops, I mis-spoke. It is a portion of Irag and not Iran. Here is the full explanation.

Question: "What is the land that God promised to Israel?"

Answer: In regards to the land that God has promised Israel, Genesis 15:18 declares, "To your descendants [Abraham's] I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates." God later confirms this promise to Abraham's son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob (whose name was later changed to Israel). When the Israelites were about to invade the Promised Land, God reiterated the land promise, as recorded in Joshua 1:4, "Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates — all the Hittite country — to the Great Sea on the west."

With Genesis 15:18 and Joshua 1:4 in mind, the land God gave to Israel included everything from the Nile river in Egypt to Lebanon (North to South) and everything from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River (West to East). So, what land has God stated belongs to Israel? All of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.

My understanding, from others, is that Ishmael and Isaac, started the two religions. Ishmael the muslims and Isaac the jews. The muslims are always in conflict due to the angel. Genesis 16:11, You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.

I have just finished reading Genesis and am currently working on Exodus.

My concern for the US. What if our muslim president turns his back on Israel? How will that affect the US. (You can try to tell me our president is Christian, I will have a hard time with that. Due to Barry Soetoro becoming Barrack Hussein Obama.)

My understanding, from others, is that any country that has denounced Israel has paid a high price. Just looking for a little insight to our current conflict.

Thank you both for your responses. This is difficult to understand, at least for me.

The islam cult treid to undercut God's word and lay claim to the charactor as something of their own. Thousands of years before mohoma started their cult and peagan moon god worship along with chid rape of 8-9 year old girls.

The have nothing to do with the God of the Bible and have no connection. They worship a pagan moon god.
This cult was started as a arab pegan anti-God cult that makes God worshipers their their natural enemy.( Jews, Christians ). Mohamad only hi-jacked the biblical to undercut their enemy. This cult uses the book written by the founder that instructs its members to deceive the infidel in their dealing of bringing all to Islam. If people do convert to them on their own the are to be killed.

Deception and death. No biblical standing, no credibility as you will find. Like ron hubbard, only a vile God hater making up their own cult.

Sounds like I'm being mean but I'm not. It's just the truth.

Hoosier. If this is your first real exploration of the Bible and you are planning to read it from front to back, I have a couple of suggestions. If you are a believer (you have already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you have been baptized, I suggest you finish Exodus, then go to the New Testament and pick one of the Gospels. (John is my favorite), then read Acts to get a feel for the beginning of the Church. Then go back and pick up the rest of the Old Testament, then finish the New Testament.

If you are not yet a believer, stop! You can read the Bible, but it will be like reading a complicated history and philosophy book rolled into one. I do not recommend reading the Bible twithout having the Holy Spirit. You will not get much from the read. I suggest you speak with a minister or elder of a Bible-preaching church and discuss your salvation. Then get into a Bible Study group for new believers. There you can read the Bible and discuss with others what you are reading. The teacher and the Holy Spirit will guide you, teach you, and be your counselor as you grow your faith.

Your understanding of Isaac and Ishmael and the roots of Judiasm is a nice story but totally a misunderstanding. I don't want to do a Bible study here. I would like to help you and will break my anonymity with you and you alone if you have a desire to dig into what it means to have a personal relationship with God.
