Reality Check, what did you think when the president made the proposal to vets that they give up their socialized healthcare and purchase private insurance?

Further reading.

That went over like a lead balloon. If someone should be charged with being detrimental to vets and cutting benefits-look to the White House.

Our states would be bankrupt. States are bankrupt and the federal government is going to bankrupt them further by adding 15 million Americans and all the undocumented folks to the state’s Medicaid programs. The federal government should collect money for national defense (we have to also add the entitlement programs to their list of moneies they collect) and let the states collect the rest of the tax dollars, all of them, and let them handle the needs of their people.

BTW, if your dog was my representative would we have free vet care for all animals?

Lassiter I heard him say the same thing at the Feb Morgan county GOP breakfast and EVERONE at my table (12 people) said, "he just lost my vote".

Redrum - remember Obama and Rev Wright and William Ayers, etc. This is no different. Of course we should judge people by the company they keep. There are plenty of good candidates out there without having to consider this someone who is buddies with a democrat wannabe. What about Watham and Rokita and Young?

Lassister--didn't say you didn't have a right to an opinion, just pointing out that an association with Jeff Quyle does not mean someone isn't conservative.

Now you have me defending Hershman though I'm for Eric Watham.

National Federation of Independent Business (and 100% rating)
Indiana Farm Bureau
Indiana Right to Life (and 100% rating)
The NRA (also gave him their highest rating and he's a lifetime member)
And he authored the gay marriage ban amendment

I just don't think one Jeff Quyle can make a person a bad candidate, unless you are just being petty. Maybe some other things, but I have liberal friends, as well as rino republican friends, but that hardly makes me one of them.

backwards murder- I have a recent memory of being told that associations did not matter with our current president, Obama. Now it more and more seems it did matter. Maybe I am being petty, but considering recent history I feel it is more than that.

You chose to defend Hershman, I did not put a gun to your head and force you to.

Thank you for the groups listed. I will say that I do not think that the Indiana Farm Bureau is conservative, especially after they pushed for years to shove NAFTA down our throats which has been a bane for many farmers. Which happens to be why I have had nothing to do with them since the 90's.

I have Liberal and Diablo friends as well, however I will oppose them if they run for office. However If I was running for office I would not open speeches by stating that they are my friends.

BTW, I support Mr. Wathen as well, so we do have that in common. :)

Steve Buyer is an arrogant self promoting politician who promised he would term limit himself but would be running for reelection if it weren't for his bogus Foundation being busted. Mr.Hershman has a State Senate record that you can all check on and see how he voted on bills that might affect you. The thing you need all remember is that with 13 names on the ballot for this Congressional seat, we could easily wind up with a doozy in the Primary that winds up getting beat in the General election. Be an informed voter. Check them all out.
