Wow. As a close person in the sheriffs department I see multiple things that are untrue in this article. Doesnt all the deputies have to complete the ILEA? Also it doesnt cost 3100 to convert the cars to brown and tan its more like 500 bucks. Mr Ringer should know this since he is in charge of the fleet! Also what are the candidates going to do for the reserves and the cars they use? Those cars are falling apart! They are hand me downs that have been run hard by the Merit deputies. So are they going to get better vehicles mr fleet man? Im sure the whole truth shall come out. Lets see who changes there stories during the meet the candidates!!

You are sadly mistaken about some of you assumptions. It does take around $3100 to repaint a SUV tan and brown. Its public record just check it out. It also costs about $2000 more to buy a Ford Explorer than a Dodge Durango (The cheaper state bid SUV) Again its public record and with a little research you can find it out. But even paying $500 for paint for regular cars is a waste of money in todays economy. They buy 6 to 10 cars a year so at $500 a whack that is $3000 to $5000 wasted on paint. What kind of equipment could be bought with that money or better yet could it not be used and save the taxpayers some money. Maybe they could take the money saved on paint and put it toward buying new cars for the reserves. Unfortunately the reserves do get hand me down cars but again its a question of budget and money. Mr Fleetman doesn't control the budget for purchasing cars that is done a much higher level. So if your issue is you want a new car talk to the people that make and approve the budget and maybe you can get some. But, then again, it might be cut from the budget because they have to paint the other cars first.
Every deputy does have to go to ILEA and I'm not what that comment meant, but if you care to check out their qualification go to their websites and see who offers you more. Somebody that earned their rank by a legitimate promotional process or someone who has held no rank or someone who got it by being appointed.
Its all about perception. You percieve that you candidate is the best because he tells you what you want to hear not what the facts support.

Mr. Ringer is in charge of fleet maintenance. He is not in charge of what type of vehicles get purchased or painted. That is the high sheriff's decision. The durango would have been cheaper. The chief deputy didn't want to drive a durango. He wanted another explorer. It is what it is folks. Themanishere I suggest that you do a little more research before stating something that is not true. As someone that is "close" to the sheriff's office you should double check with your "close" source. They either misled you, or simply lied. If you are waiting for the truth to come out, don't hesitate any longer. Check the purchases/bills. IT IS PUBLIC RECORD. Those figures are dead on.
Lets look at the qualifications, and goals of each candidate and concentrate on something that matters. You are crying over spilled milk. Lastly, you get the county to approve a budget that allows for the purchase of new reserve cars and I think that any sheriff will be happy to buy em. Don't hold your breath on that one. By the way, who pushed for the new gas cards issued to the county deputies that has saved thousands of dollars? You guessed it, Captain Ringer.

To all the Ringer fans,
What happened to Mr Ringers promise after getting beat last time he ran for Sheriff? He promised the citizens on tape he would not run again! Wow there is one promise already broke. When he went to Chief Downey and asked him to put in a good word for him to be a instructor at ILEA they still refused him. So how many more lies is he telling his little puppets out there??

Well Jake have you ever heard of changing you'r mind. Brian wouldn't have but he was approached by several people to run, who didn't like the choices given. And the story is correct you'r choice is a ford man, go check for you'r self how much it cost's to convert a stock explorer(not police package) to brown and tan. Some of the deputy's cars didn't get fully lighted because the budget was busted. The Sheriff's car looks good though.
RINGER FAN AND PROUD OF IT RINGER FOR SHERIFF AND GOODBYE GOOD OLE BOYS!
