Nothing will happen to these two, especially Bill Jennings. Bet Jennings is still driving a city patrol car. This news conference is a great show and when everything settles down and the news people have gone away, they will get a smack on the hand and a good ole boy pat on the back and back out on the streets again.
Small town politics, you got to love them!

This seriously makes me want to cry. I can’t help but think of this child being hit by that electrical shock. My heart is truly aching.

A child having a major temper tantrum and this is how our local public servants respond. Captain Jennings, really? 36-year veteran. Captain Jennings finds it within his power and suitable to strike the public. (How many times has this happened?) He is the illustration presented to our young officers regarding decision-making and public service, atrocious. It is not any wonder Mr. Johnson thought it correct to use excessive force on a child. How many new officers has he orientated to the department. It makes one consider the entire department. (Maybe we should change the name to the Martinsville Police Force.)

I am appalled, simply appalled. I sincerely hope that I never, ever have an encounter with the Martinsville Police Force for any reason. I have great reserve that any of the responses by this Force would be appropriate.

If this Force is not going to be held accountable and take appropriate action, I strongly suggest that the public demand it. Poor decision making, excessive use of force, total disregard for the public, assault, child abuse, the lack of humanity, empathy and compassion. This is the paradigm of local law enforcement/public servants. This must not be tolerated. It is time the public clean Martinsville up and created moral and personal responsibility within their taxpayer staff. Somebody has to do it and it’s your money. Spend it wisely. (I will stand on the courthouse lawn holding my sign right beside you.)

Lib, I am with you. I would love to see the daycare center brought to court for the lack of judgment regarding their decisions.

No doubt that child was out of control but two big officers could not take him down and hold him till he could calm down or get paramedics there to see if there was some medical condition that coused it? Thank God no cardiac problem was caused by this.

At this point we do not, and I repeat, do not know the entire situation involving this child and the police officers involved. I hope that when the investigation is completed, that the entire story is revealed. For it to be handed over to the sheriff's department so quickly tells me that the city police are not trying to cover anything up.

All we know is what the officers confessed to.

The Sheriff Dept has it's own issues like this and is part of the same good ol boy network as the police dept. They are the last one to investigate. The State Police Dept must be brought in to make any out come credible.

Hoosier.

Where is Wilbur and the Monkeys on this post?? Maybe the monkeys chewed the cords up again? I never thought I would say this Hoosier but I will agree with your top post! Also Det Worth from the sheriffs department is one of the best detectives in the county if not the state. Ask the other detectives they will tell you how detailed and strict he is with his cases. He wont cover anything up. Sheriff Garner has assigned the perfect person for this case. Ta Ta Mr Jennings and Johnson. Anyone going to apply for these two positions?? How about since they took there id's guns and vehicles they also take there pay?? Good way to save money?? Just a thought for the Monkeys lol

Happy Easter!
