read more recent story comments Reader comments| Nurse Friday, April 9, 2010: 10:50 am More from Nurse | Well I hope all the school board memebers and others plan on looking for another job...I will never vote for any of you on this board. You have really let this town and community down. Our children are not being brought up with right direction...NOW THEY KNOW ITS OK TO DRINK AND DRIVE YOU WILL JUST GET A SMACK ON THE HAND....Thank you for your time serving with our school board..but it is time to let you GO... |
| mcbacker Friday, April 9, 2010: 10:59 am More from mcbacker | Your children should be being brought up with YOUR direction not with what they see and hear around them. You should be the biggest influence in your children's lives. So do they now think it is o'kay to cheat on their future spouse because they saw Tiger do it and countless others? YOU be their role model and talk to them about what you think is right and what path they should follow. I get tired of parents complaining that their kids will think it is alright blah blah blah . . . if you are a parent, then be a parent . . . ITS YOUR JOB! |
| sunshine Friday, April 9, 2010: 11:31 am More from sunshine | RIDICULOUS! I AM FURIOUS OVER THIS! I HONESTLY THOUGHT THERE WAS NO NEED FOR ME TO ATTEND BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY MADE MY OPINION KNOWN TO THE SCHOOL BOARD, AND THE PUBLIC HAD SPOKEN OUT ENOUGH IN THIS FORUM & IN GENERAL. THE R-T DID A POLL - DO THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS NOT READ THE PAPER?!?!? OH YEAH, THEY COULDN'T READ IT BECAUSE THEY ALL HAD THEIR HEADS UP DR. FURNISS' ARSE...OTHERWISE THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW THE PUBLIC FELT REGARDLESS IF ONLY 2 PEOPLE HAD BALLS ENOUGH TO SPEAK AT THE MEETING! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! LIKE PUNISHMENT FOR A CHILD, IF YOU ASK ME! I WON'T BE RUNNING FOR SCHOOL BOARD BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TIME - WISH I DID, BUT YOU CAN DARN SURE BET I WON'T BE VOTING FOR A SINGLE ONE OF THESE MORONS EVER AGAIN! I SINCERELY HOPE SOME OTHER INTELLIGENT INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE OUR KIDS' BEST INTERESTS IN MIND STEP UP TO RUN SO WE CAN REPLACE THESE IGNORANT ARSES ONE BY ONE! |
| mcbacker Friday, April 9, 2010: 12:24 pm More from mcbacker | Sunshine it is funny that you say the public had spoken out about this . . . since most everyone that I have talked to DID NOT think Dr. Furniss should be fired. Obviously more people support him than do not (talking about the general public). I get a kick out of people like yourself that complain about change but "DON'T HAVE TIME" to make a difference. Obviously you feel very strongly on this so maybe you should find some time and run and see how many people vote for you! There just may be some people that don't want your MORON ARSE in office! |
| A Hoosier Friday, April 9, 2010: 1:10 pm More from A Hoosier | Oh Greg, (Farmer Fred), you got any pig-o-lets? I need two fifty pounders, huh, you got that? If not, do you know where I can get them? To topic at hand, as I stated originally, I don't think ole Mr. Furniss should lose his job, but seriously, who cares what I think? Peace. |
| Reality Check Friday, April 9, 2010: 4:47 pm More from Reality Check | If anyone is using this forum to gage the "pulse" of the "majority" of Morgan County they shouldn't. This forum consists of maybe 12 people who write often who say nothing short of rhetoric or hate speech or partisan jabbering and DO NOTHING in terms of anything positive in this commununity besides say something for the sake of saying something. That doesn't mean they aren't intelligent folks (minus Liberty) who feel like "letting it out" is something that they have to do here. |
| Reality Check Friday, April 9, 2010: 4:49 pm More from Reality Check | A Hoosier, I am glad someone finally spelled the man's name right on here, too. From the looks of it here, we'll have 22 people running for school board and 43 running for mayor next year. Can't wait. |
| sunshine Friday, April 9, 2010: 5:51 pm More from sunshine | Dear mcbacker: It's funny that you think "most everyone that you have talked to" could be the majority. I am truly humored by this statement. As if everyone you've talked to makes all the difference in the world, right? Shows just how much you don't think outside your own little world or your own precious little circle of friends. Further, you said "obviously more people support him than do not". Just how exactly do you conclude this? I believe the only people that would have any actual figures on formal complaints or opinions are the school board members, but that mean they had to go with "majority rules". And unless you plan on taking your own personal poll on issues such as this in the future, you should refrain from making such definitive statements. It only makes you sound ignorant and truly clueless about the fact that there are people who live outside your little world who DO matter whether you think so or not! As for my time, I have a job that takes up about 60 hours a week and 3 children at home. Excuse the hell out of me for already having plenty to do. And YOU (or anyone else here) of all people aren't going to make me feel like I don't still have a right to voice my opinion (here or anywhere else) since I can't justify altering my career choice at the present time. Thanks your opinion on my post, but I really don't give a rat's ARSE what you think of me! |
| Liberty Friday, April 9, 2010: 5:52 pm More from Liberty |
Hey buddy where have you been, Did you engage me or had something you feel knowledgeable about you wish to debate? Or did you just come on here to insult someone your afraid to stand-up to in a logical debate on issues. Seems that you UNION SERVING GEC OPERATIVES ( USGO's ) know so little about the real world you never engage in a deep debate but just jump in and throw insult jabs at those you envy. What do you think of your boss's drunk driving issue ? How do you think it may affect the long term thinking of a child ? . |
| sunshine Friday, April 9, 2010: 5:53 pm More from sunshine | excuse me...line 7 of my last post should read "...but that DOESN'T mean..." |
