Okay, you got me....I'll play along....
1) John Neal - obtained office through "taxpayers supporting votes".
2) Yes, John has a family that he needs to feed.
3) One year $99,831.50 - Comparable to any ranking government entity in Morgan County. Those numbers are in the same report.
4) Scotty is John's Son-in-law. Morgan County has several government employees that are paid with our tax dollars that are related.
5) Key word - "Elected". The public knows he does a good job.
5a)Anyone can run for office.
6) Key word "Elected". Again, The public knows that Scotty does a good job.
7) Scotty is abiding by the rules. (Even though some would say that would be nice to live in seperate households).
8) That sign is very legitimate. Is there a law saying you must live with your spouse?
9) Scotty is the real deal.
We got enough change through our presidential election that our tax dollars will never recover from. Let's keep someone in office, that has integrity along with character and enjoys serving his community.

Greg,
Just a little additional observation sparked by your's, Manley seems to try to all things to all people, so I guess that makes him a "Gooder Ole Boy"? I really believe, if you're going to examine the trustee candidates that closely, you should gaze a litt deeper into Manley's past & present. He may not be all that he appears on some fronts and more than he claims on others. Just a thought and the more I think, the more I realize I'm tired of the Neal's with their hands in the taxpayer cookie jar. Guess that makes Downing the Goodest Ole Boy by default. Thanks for the epiphany, Greg.

Not much of this is as it seems. If this letter is taken at face value, it definitely is the kind of thing that I would speak out against... and loudly. The problem is that this letter is all half-truths crossed with blatant uh... hmmmm... "mistruths" and my best guess says it was written at the diningroom table of the firehouse by the few fellas hoping to get promotions if Downing wins. I know Scotty personally, and neither he nor I would condone some of the shtuff that has occured up there in the past few years. This is not a matter of passing the family legacy as this letter would insinuate.
Scotty has stated that he won't get in the mud-flinging and doesn't want the folks working on his campaign to do so either, so I'll leave it at that. Downing's record and the company he keeps speak volumes, and if that's what you want, knock yourself out.

Greg,

Wow you have some inside stuff going on as I do from that fire dept. And yes you are right. A few people who are supporting Mr Downing are being his little puppets so they can try and advance unlike most places you have to work for your advancement. People need to realize that Mr Downing has a piss poor history in government. Ask Mr Downing why he was let go as fire chief out at Gregg Twp? Ask people around town who have dealt with him through the coroners officer or sheriffs dept how he ignored there calls and never helped families with answers or anything like that. I could go on and on but truth be told if anyone in Washington Twp votes for Mr Downing I hope you enjoy Martinsville Fire running the show because Martinsville is going to Merge with Washington and the Mayor will be in charge then not Mr Downing. As rumor on the street has it and from a few fireman from numerious departments its already figured out. All they have to do is put it into action and sign the papers but the Mayor has a little much on his plate and more important things to deal with right now, so lets see how many people want a merger?? So do the right thing Washington Twp and Vote Manley for Trustee. Atleast he is for the people and will go to bat for them and fight for what they want, and not be a little puppet like others.

Greg,
I'm curious, which parts of the letter are untrue? And how do you know? Not doubting, but just wondering if your personal closeness with Manley may not have tainted your ability to be subjective. Please enlighten me.

Thanks Greg,

I wouldn't take advice from anyone on who to vote for if they didn't have an inside on someone.

Your personal closeness with Manley only makes your opinion educated and credible.

We all have opinions but some who are looking for the truth will appreciate your inside insight on this.
