The Good 'ol Boy network will come shining through as sure as the sun rising tomorrow, just wait and see.

Jennings has enough knowledge of all the dirty little secrets in this town to give almost everyone who's anyone a headache, he can make life miserable for a lot of people if he starts reminiscing.

If charges are not brought against these two and they are not let go, I encourage everyone to file complaints with the U.S. Justice Dept., Federal Bureau of Investigations and the US Attorney Generals Office. The complaint you file needs to request investigations into the Martinsville Police Department, Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Morgan County Prosecutor's Office, and the two officers.
The so called "Good Ole Boy" network, will not help this town and county at the Federal and State level.

In the end all that will happen is a slap on the hand and then all the other officers will think they can do what they want and they do anyway. If I had slapped a child i would of already been in jail for battery on a child.

I am shocked that the investigation is still pending. How long does it take when they have signed statements from the police officers? Besides if we fired these two we would have more money to dump into the park pool!

Isn't this still the United States where people are presumed innocent until proven guilty? Let that idea die and policemen tazing bratty 10 year olds will be the least of our worries!

Only in a court of law under threat of incarceration is anyone to be " presumed innocent until proven guilty."

So this has nothing to do with our responsibility to are family and neighbors to use our own discernment in our approach with others.

Of coarse none of the above comes into play on this one because they both hand wrote and signed complete confessions to their crimes.

Because of this I find it suspicious that the mayor hasn't fired them. That wouldn't effect their criminal trial, that is if the prosecutor has the honor to do his job. We'll see which politicians to put up on the chopping block next for refusing to do their duty.

Do any of you proofread before you post a comment? It only makes you appear unintelligent. Just a thought!

"make them pick trash up off the road like other criminals are made to do how about some hard labor here not rewarding them at the taxpayors expense so basically become a criminal and you get paid to do nothing"

This is the quote I was referring to from Concerned. Does it occur to you that they have to follow a due process before the policemen could be fired? I'm sure a lawsuit for wrongful termination would cost the city plenty.

I also find it interesting that the people who generally post here only want to focus on the negative things that happen in this area. I rarely see anyone comment on articles about something good happening in the school or in the city or county. Today is the first time I have commented on anyting, but definitely plan on focusing on the positive articles I see in the future. We have great people in Martinsville, I guess it's just more fun to focus on the things we can make fun of.

The Voice and Voice of Reason: Great Job! Are there really just a few people who really care...and take time to view and listen to all facts...before being so quick to judge and make absolutely stupid comments??
