Wow. This looks absolutely beautiful. O.K. naysayers, start complaining about how "over done" it is. Thank you Park Board and all others involved in these plans. My kids are going to love this. Hurry summer!

Give me a break - Why are you thanking the Park Board? Thank the taxpayers and yourself for taking on the extra debt to help pay for all the beauty you see. Jeez, if the park board would have managed the project in the first place, the pool would have been utilized last summer and our tax dollars would have already started paying on the now oversized bond! Enjoy your new pool Martinsville. You have earned every inch of it through your tax dollars alone!!

I too am so excited that the pool has been repaired and updated. My kids really missed the pool last year and are looking foward to being able to swim this summer. Thanks Park Board and tax payers for taking care of our pool and not just letting it sit there for another year.

Hope to see summer friends take advantage of something nice and new. Let's try to keep things this way.

Lila: I'm thanking the Park Board for the same reason I thank my Mama for cooking dinner even though I bought the groceries.Because it's the right thing to do. Somebody did the work, attended the meetings, worked out the budget, picked out the equipment, handled the engineers and contractors, and then have to put up with criticism and a thankless public. Yes, we paid for it, but the Park Board managed the project and put up with the grief.

Give me a break - The Park Board mismanaged the project and therefore should have to put up with the grief. There are too many things to mention as to how this project was so mismanaged. Now the taxpayers are footing an even higher bill because of that mismanagement. Yes, the park will be nice and yes, the public will be happy with all the updates. However, as those "lemmings" continue to nod and smile, while moving towards their financial demise, I will opt out of the "lemming" line just because I think it is the right thing to do!

I took a walk through the park the other day and saw what was being done. BRAVO! I'm GLAD to see my tax dollars are going to something nice that we can all use and enjoy! (Oh the counties I've lived in before where my tax dollars seemed to disappear into thin air with nothing to show for it.)

Let's face it, there isn't much for kids to do in Martinsville, so this will be a nice outlet for them.
