Thank you Mooresville residents for voting for the apples and not the worms in this very important school board election.
I wait with baited breath to see what Pinky has to say now.

I am glad that the Mooresville School Board will have a fresh start and some new faces on the School Board even though I did not vote for Mr. King. I congratulate you on your win. I am in Madison Township so I did not vote on the Davis/Roberson ballot. I do know of the Roberson family from when I went to school at Mooresville, and I do believe he is a good person to be sitting on the Board. I just want to express that I hope you do put our kids and their education above any personal issues or opinions with the Referendum. Let's move forward with a fresh start and do what is best for our community and our kids. Let's find a good balance for everyone. I do agree with Mr. King that we need to take care of our current buildings first and save our teachers! I just hope you realize that the kids at North Madison deserve to be removed from the mobile classrooms in the near future. I am not a parent at North Madison for the record. I am just very angry as to why we allowed all these new housing additions to be built in Mooresville without any thought to what this would do to our schools. I would hope at this point that Mooresville will not allow to many more homes to be built until we deal with current issues in our schools! I have lived here all my life and love Mooresville so I hope I didn't make a bad decision by staying and sending my kids to Mooresville Schools. I wish you the best in your new position and hope you take this job very seriously. I hope that everyone who comments will be positive about a new fresh start for the Mooresville School Board! Let's be done with all the negative slams! It is getting us nowhere.

Michelle, Very well said!

I do know that the three new board members, Mr. Roberson, Mr. King and Mr. Swindle have already discussed the North Madison issue.

The referendum is now over. I too hope for a fresh start. Though heated, this election was not as vile as the referendum last year, which to me indicates some healing. I also hope that healing will continue.

Congratulations to all winners. Please keep a transparent and responsible government that we can trust.

Lassiter,

I did read their comments in the Mooresville Times today and it does sound like the portable classrooms are high on their list of issues to address. I think keeping our teachers is also very high on their priority list which is great! I think good things are coming for Mooresville Schools!

To Michelle:

On your comment about the housing additions...part of that is because no one in Mooresville or Morgan County has enough since to make the housing developers give money to the schools or build another school. Most cities make large housing developments such as Heart Land crossing build seperate schools because of the huge amounts of kids. No one in this area ever thinks of that.

Michelle

I am glad you are open to the intent of the new board members. I received an email this morning that aside from developing a plan to remove the portables and maintaining teachers it spoke of morals and ethics as well as community involvement. I think they will do their best.

Two major countywide offices won by Republicans who were not the anointed ones. Good for those candidates. We need good government, not koolaid drinkers. I wonder if he had the balls to call and congratulate them.
