Folks, this one is mine. Morgan County doesn't like the idea of a "swingers campground", but you are perfectly ok with allowing Brooklyn to assume zoning jurisdiction of 2 miles, change the zoning, (which coincidentally allowed one of the zoning commissioner's son-on-law to sell his property at over $70,000 an ACRE....that's not a missprint.....so that a mining company can dig a 150 ft hole for 70 years behind a residential area....and trying to do it without notifying adjacent property owners. And then, we had the story of the Rev Frank Sams whose brother in law was living with him (a registered sex offender) and living within a 1000 ft of a school. And now, you folks have a problem with swingers. Not that I am a swinger nor would I ever engage in it, but to think that the crooks, thieves, and pathetic swindlers of Morgan Co have a problem with ANYTHING is beyond my comprehension. Seems to me that those in charge in Morgan Co don't have a problem with screwing people; they just have a problem with the "literal" use of the word. Or maybe this one: Hey... this is sister kissing, nascar and wrasslin country... we don't need no swingers messing up our style down here... Read more. Heart breaking. - a Hoosier This is the exact reason Martinsville will never grow. No business wants to come to a town that is so prejudice. A factory wanted to build here in the 90's along White River, signs went up saying "this land not for sale" and "Remember Pearl Harbor". You don't have to agree with ones beliefs, but it is their right to be free. Zoning laws are in place to protect having industrial sites right next to residential sites or landfills in a well protection zone. Zoning laws are not there so a person can say "I don't want that next to me." You don't like it buy the ground, or sell yours either way they have the right as long as it does not endanger the public. Why do people think Morgan County is full of redneck hillbilly white trash, it is because the citizens give them plenty of reasons to think that. Between the fights at the funeral homes, the MSD superintendent's DUI, Cops using excessive force on a 10 year old, the prejudice attitude, and the list goes on. |

We can love the person and hate the things they choose to do. I hate the thought of such a campground's being approved, they do have the same rights to regular campgrounds, so they have no need of a special one.
