Martinsville needs to take action as Greenwood did and get a law on the books. They roll down my street and the windows and the house shake at times. Not to mention speed. SOmetimes look at these outfits; the stereo is worth more than the car! No place but Martinsville.

I'm in my mid 20's.... and I work nights. I have my music up loud at lot of times so I can stay awake on my drive home. I usually turn it down a little in town or when I'm at a stop light next to people, but I think you need to just get over it.

I think it is a little funny to hear what kind of music they are listening to when they drive by.

I bet the car is worth less than the stereo inside the car. Look at most of these ones booming the music////cars are wrecks and junkers.

On the big BOOMS, I have to say I get a little shaken. I may be 30 years plus your senior Redrum but that doesn't give me or anyone else the moral right to forget what we all sought after when we were in our twenties. The very best we could come up with a set of 9" Jensen coaxials, you know the ones with the stupid cone in the middle. They were also the ones that would bust when you tried to play the low moog tone towards the end of " Lucky Man" (by Emerson Lake and Palmer) to loud. I would get excited if I could feel anything that closely resembled a bass note. That didn't stop me from showing of my cool system I was proud of when stopped at the lights or filling with gas.

Someone I love very much had three bad life threatening accidents when they tried driving home after working night shift. I thing the internal clock gets messed up and can put you to sleep instantly no matter how hard you try to stay awake. You should do what ever you need to do to not fall asleep. Who knows you might actually be keeping others awake on the road by playing your loud music. I bet "Kansas" sounds good on these newer systems.

Liberty... I'm the worst driving home after the late shift when it comes to music. I swerved to miss a deer on 67 by bradford woods a few months back and had to hitch hike home. My least concern on the drive home is my music being to loud.... I'm more worried about deer and drunk drivers. I have the windows down and the music way up on the highways, which probably scares the deer a little bit... but once I get in town I never have a problem staying awake, but the music is still loud. Not loud enough to shake windows but enough for people to hear if they were walking outside on the sidewalks. I consider myself to be pretty considerate of others.

Years ago I worked nights. I was still so wound up from trying to work as hard as I could that I didn't have to worry about falling asleep on the way home. Even had to take sleeping pills to wind down when I got there.

Lassiter.... I guess your insinuating that I don't work hard, lol. I work a 12hr shift and have a part time job on the side... you tend to get tired :)

Does that mean you play Kansas on the highway and George Jones in town ?

It may not be the volume but the songs themselves that this guys complaining about. Remember, heavy stuff out of town and slow country in town and any music with a albino playing a banjo when in the hills. There, that solves the problem. :)

Did not aim to insinuate that. I can see where it may be taken that way I just wasn't thinking that way when I wrote. Just sharing my experience when working mega hours on night shift. Of course some are just wound up tighter than others. :)
