Quick question. Why was the report released by the DOE and not Ron Furniss and Eric Bowlen?

It is my understanding that a report of this nature details what occurred (breach), how school officials investigated it, what was done to correct the situation by the school and district, and any plans to prevent/correct during future testing situations. If the state accepts the report and approves the corrective measures that have been taken and any future plans, it can then be released as a public/statement.

My guess would be that since it involved personnel matters it would not be made public until they were certain the state was in agreement with the district regarding the matter. To comment publicly prior to the state releasing the report could be considered a breach of due process.

I think it's wrong that the teachers had to pay for something the system created.

The teachers made a choice by their actions. They clearly crossed a line where trust and integrity are placed in high regard.

They should and have been punished. Saying that it is wrong to punish them because of the "system" is like saying we shouldn't write speeding tickets for posted speed limits. Just because you don't stand/believe for standardize testing doesn't mean that you should not play by the rules and does not hold you any less accountable. Every teacher knows what is expected of them when they hire on.
