Trustee, citizens tussle over Madison Township finances
read more recent story comments Reader comments| Liberty Monday, June 21, 2010: 3:03 pm More from Liberty | When state constitutions require balanced budgets ( no borrowed money) their state live within their means. This should be the same for all forms of government. Period. Use this township problem as a prime example. The number one most detrimental and un-necessary act anyone can commit is to borrow money for any reason. That go's for homes, cars, government. Will you start making home payments at 20 ? NO, but you can completely own your home at 30. When government and people are forced to live within their means they get use to achieving all that's necessary by other means and get used to the new method of doing it. At the core of this economic crash we're now experiencing was a simple and fundamental error in judgment or maybe just an intentional " do it now and let others worry about that down the road" judgment. In order to pay for massive new spending and make socialized health care look affordable , a new Clinton administration needed to quickly increase the incoming revenue. The solution ? The largest tax increase in the nations history. The problem was, how to remove that much of the citizens cash from their pockets and not bring down the economy. How to remove that much of a family's income but keep them spending...hum........and this is exactly what they did and it worked in the short run but ? CLICK HERE FOR THE REST OF THAT STORY. Maybe the state laws should be changed to prevent all governmental entities in the state from borrowing money. That would be interesting. |
| Ratcatcher Monday, June 21, 2010: 6:57 pm More from Ratcatcher | Why don't people go to the advisory board meetings? Don't people care about what is being done with their money? If people did that they would find out it is being run by firefighters and their spouses. Of course they are going to spend all your tax money on new toys at the firestation for THEMSELVES. It's not about the citizens. Then they cry "but don't you want fire protection?" and "don't you want to support your local firefighters?" and then they get "emergency loans". What the bleep is that all about?! Wise up people. Stop letting the foxes run the henhouse and stop believing the propoganda they tell you. Go to a Community Taxpayers Association meeting and get the FACTS the advisory board and the trustee won't tell you. |

| Ratcatcher Tuesday, June 22, 2010: 5:15 pm More from Ratcatcher | There is a public meeting scheduled for this Friday at 3pm to discuss the results of the audit done by the state board of accounts. Channel 6 news will be there to continue the investigation they started. Everyone in the township is encouraged to attend. |
