Your zeal to teach young people is something to cling to and protect from the NEA teachers who will soon come down on you both politically and personally with their own twisted form of who and what is most important to the NEA social moment. If you can overcome that and keep your focus on academic education and the respect of the children's parent then you are well on your way. My recommendation above all is NOT to join the NEA or it's states sub and don't socialize or seek guidance from anyone who belongs to these political groups.
