Sept. 7. If this is vote for then the following applies. Vote every corrupt council member who voted to give the Well-Off Mayor a 10% plus wage adjustment during depression times and leaving the lowly paid hard working city employees with a vomit on the floor 1.5% insult. With the upcoming hyper-inflation this is a wage decrease for those who have to pay the tax dollars to pay for the mayors large raping of this town and it's employees. Then throw out their Mayor they conspired with that won't refuse to rape this towns taxpayers. Clerk-Treasurer Mary Lou Peden, run for Mayor. You have an honor that the current poser doesn't. You have my support and my guess all the other town employees support you also. I'm sure they would campaign for you.. If anyone thinks I'm out of line then all I can say is it's not me folks, people are defined and voted against by their own actions. |

| Liberty Wednesday, August 25, 2010: 12:40 am More from Liberty | We are in this for several more years folks. Our government is doing the same things Roosevelt did that threw us into a decade of a depression. I will continue to say be prepared for tough times. No propaganda can revive us. At this point government involvement can only do harm. That go's for local governments also. At least a freeze would be first in order. At least on the mayors pay. This comment here shows that you've got your nose bent out of shape due to the effects of, most likely, the Repugnant party. Sheesh, it is historically accepted that the Great Depression began worldwide due to what happened in 1929. Let's see, FDR defeated Hoover in the election of 1932 and took office in 1933 at the depth's of the Great Depression. You're a real piece of work. The whole thing about lemmings and cliffs is a myth, however, folks who have their noses so far up the butts of either political party typically will follow their party's doctrine right off that proverbial cliff. |
| Liberty Wednesday, August 25, 2010: 6:42 pm More from Liberty | Give Me A Break, I have addressed your concern on another post. Redrum, I was raised by parents who were raising teenagers not much younger than you in 1930. I grew-up being taught first hand about the depression. The depressions ( yes some worst ) prier to the 30's would only a short period of time and just as all things in the free enterprise system self corrected. The only time it didn't was when for the first time in history the federal government got involved. Hover, FDR and the rest is history. They are doing the exact thing today as they did in the first one and we are experiencing the same results. I have provided some good educational links on this. You should read them for understanding and preparation. This isn't one of those things that everyones opinion counts the same on. This is about economic science and we know exactly what the results of history is. That's why they used to teach it. Maybe they stopped by the time you was in school but it still exist. You may learned about Martin Luther King and stuff like that but you won't find the truth about history in the GEC system and that's a fact. You can at the library though and I recommend if for all you young people. PS Stay away from the political parties. . |
| Lassiter Thursday, August 26, 2010: 12:41 am More from Lassiter | Liberdood FDR never did solve the depression. WW2 stopped the depression for 4 years, then it returned from 46-50 under Truidiot. It ended and prosperity returned under the Eisenhower administration. Right? |
| Liberty Thursday, August 26, 2010: 12:11 pm More from Liberty | Lass, Our nation has gone through it's up's and downs. Periods of rapid innovation and period of war and periods of stagnation and ( i never thought I would ever say this) like now under the new way of governance , a period of defeatism. I have always thought of our nations economy like a household of smart children. Some thinkers, and some doers and workers. And yes even some Thinker-doer -workers. All with a Mom and Dad who had to budget their needs. Their are times when a couple of the children had some great inventions they would come up with and took them to market. The family would flourish and the other children would have work because of it. Mom and Dad would serve steaks & Eggs for breakfast and everyone got a new bicycle. Dads budget had lots coming in and lots going out. There were also times when those new inventions got old and people didn't want them anymore. The money stopped coming in and Dad had to adjust the budget. Everyone eats toast for breakfast and the bicycles were sold for money for clothing and shoes. And because Dad knew if he didn't keep things real lean his family wouldn't have the incentives to think big again the family would sit around at night remembering the steak they used to eat and the nice rides they had and try to think of some new invention that would be needed by everyone, something that would take-off and be a big success because Dads slow-time budget didn't even have room for toilet paper. Bang, brother Al cam up with an idea and off to market they ran with sister Becky running behind asking " whats a telephone ? ". Dads Good-time budget replaced the slow-time and guess what, the new bikes have banana seats and stingray handle bars. This nation since it's beginnings have gone through many ups and downs. Just thing at what happened when the car was invented or the phone or plane or " whats a PC? ". This nation was had rapid increases of revenue that expanded rapidly. The problem was when we stopped having more than just the Good-time budget. In a nation that will spurt up and then spurt down we will always have irregular and cyclical revenue streams. The ability of everyone to adjust the spending to adapt is what defines our economic cycles. All things are judged by our GDP and when that move everything has to move with it. The private sector under the free enterprise / market system will always self adjust just like Dad did. In fact this happened in the 1946 when everyone was riding the " government must keep giving the surfs fake money or all will fall" bandwagon. It wasn't that depression that hurt us but it was that depression that saved us. It proved that a welfare state wasn't necessary and the free enterprise system was all that was needed. Unfortunately the new deal wasn't dismantled and we have had to work around it ever since. When left alone It will always provide the incentives and adjustments to bounce us out of all the downs ( depressions) we have and will always knock us of all the tops when we get to high. Eisenhower was known for just managing the economic status quo and primarily leaving well enough alone. The free enterprise / market system left alone took care of the rest. We have had what seems to be depressions off and on all through out our history. They are a Standard part of how it works. The only thing that has ever made them great was when the government got involved and the system wasn't aloud to be free and use it's built-in incentives and adjust. Just how Dad's did. Because of politics and the acceptance of popular politics we now have just the good-times budget and in the slow times they just borrow money. I think it began with the rapid influx of European emigrants at the end of the late 1800's brought more to this nation than just are hard working ancestors who were just looking for opportunities and freedom. Along with the good came some negatives that would eventually mesh it's way into society. Our European ancestors brought with them their ideologies they were raised with. Their political and economic ideologies wasn't checked at Ellis island. In Europe they we under communism, socialism, fascism and after all since Europe was built-up of mostly monarchies the ideology many don't even consider or even heard of may have been the most damaging of all because it's the one that is a pre-requisite to the acceptance of a tyrannical form of government and that's " surfism ". The acceptance of a royal family being of a higher class or more special than ones self. We now have our politicians elevated to kings and their popularity is more important than their skills. They no longer do what is right but just what is popular. They would never have a slow-time budget and sell the children's bikes. That's what has brought us to this moment. No longer do we have responsible citizens who will manage their government but we seem to have plenty of surfs who want the government to manage them. They are even ok with them having crowns and doing whatever they want. Hey here is a interesting look at the 1946 DEPRESSION. CLICK HERE. . |
