I don't know Hall or Gash, but I can surely see, from his ridiculously exaggeratd statements, that Mr. Gash is not a reasonable man;

“Can you build a gun range in Morgan County without getting your neighbors’ permission? If that’s the case, I’m going to call Don’s Guns in Indianapolis and have them shoot up my place.”

“It’d be like you put 50 people with loaded guns around a maternity ward,” he said. “They just think it’s fun to see the cattle run I guess.”

Carry on Mr. Hall and good for you. I have the feeling Mr. Gash may believe he controls everything he sees and you "move-ins" of only 16 years should seek his permission in all matters.

I would also suspect, Mr. Gash, that the runoff from your cattle operation would be a far greater danger to the community than a responsibly designed and operated shooting range.

To see what kind of neighbor Max Gash is, check out his "hog lot" advertising next to Mr. Cheeks driveway on State Road 142. He's not in the hog business, but rather is placing an eyesore next to his neighbors for spite. That has been there for several years with up-dated painted signs this year. There are a number of people that could dispute his "good standing" in the community!

AMEN! I've got one of those across the road from me. I wish he had a large herd of cattle to manage and care for so he wouldn't have time to constantly scold me about potentially burning down all our houses in this dry weather because of my weekend marshmallow toast and weenie roast. MYOB people! ;)

I grew up in Eminence very close to where Mr. Gash lives. I know for a fact that the statement that, "he has never had problems with any of his neighbors", is a blatant lie! In the past 12 years or so he has caused quite a few problems for many of his neighbors. For example one neighbor had to take him to court because Mr. Gash decided that his property line was further than what he had fenced in and move the fence onto the neighbors property about 15 ft. And after going to court the judge determined that since Mr. Gash's fence had been in place for 20 + years that where the fence once was in fact Mr. Gash's property line. That is just one example, there are numerous others. I truly think that with age the man is becoming senial(sp). He used to be quite and not a bad neighbor but the older he becomes the meaner and more spitefal he becomes, either that or he just is very bored and wants to stir up drama. Either way, I'm glad I no longer live near him so I don't have to put up with such nonsense.
