Is this the same skating rink where Henry Franklin Smith, Martinsville City Engineer and former county surveyor was murdered April 9, 1932?
The name of the skating rink where he was murdered was "the Crystal skating rink."
Henry Franklin Smith was the father of Evart "Doc", Wilbur "Wib", Alva "Cider", Mary Emily, William "Chub", and Joy.
Smith was found lying on the ground at the end of a walk leading from the rink. (Indianapolis News, April 11, 1932.)

I remember the "Hut". It is too bad the kids do not have a place like that now. But times and kids have changed. The skating rink on Bluff Road Indpls. has been in business for years. We used to take our kids and church kids there for skating. When going past there it seems to still be in business. So I assume kids still skate. Kids grow up to fast now and spend lots of time with the video games. Years can only go forward.It is not good for the mind to live in the past. (But sometimes fun)
