Really? The Township is frequently short of firefighters Mayor? So when did you start responding and no everything? Washington Calls for Martinsville for assistance not because of lack of fireman but for the guys to be able to keep fresh with rehab and everything. Same reason the city calls for more people. Its not the lack of firefighters so get things right

Scott D. Manley will be moving to the other side of the Martinsville-Washington Township merger issue when he steps down from his Martinsville Common Council seat to become the township trustee on Jan. 1.

“I think eventually it’s (a merger is) going to happen,” Manley said. “There were too many unanswered questions that neither side could satisfy.

“It seems like to me anything in Martinsville and Morgan County is always more difficult like when the city park pool was built.”

And in the case of the merger, Manley said, “The city drug their feet too long. Everybody thought this would be done in month or so, but it went on for months.”

Having attended quite a few City Council meetings, I don't think I recall Mr. Manley trying to kick the ball along any faster either. Huh.
