read more recent story comments Reader comments| driver Tuesday, December 21, 2010: 7:33 pm More from driver | Good old Kenny Hale Is trying to take control of the whole county. I can't believe he wants to do away with all Township goverment. Kenny has done nothing but milk the county almost since the fiest time he got in office. He needs to be gone. |

| Arse Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 12:32 am More from Arse | I'm curious where Kenny Hale obtained all of his emergency service knowledge. As far as I know, he'd never been so much as a Civil Defense Blackout Marshall. I believe it's time for Kenny to break suction on the taxpayer's teat for a while and see if he can find gainful employment in the private sector. You can blame the commissioners for creating this monster. They love to toss Kenny scraps they aren't prepared to deal with and he's taking full advantage of their lethargy. |
| Lassiter Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 12:59 am More from Lassiter | Interesting part is this blog was mentioned in the meeting by a councilman. Prather I do believe. He was asking other councilman to not be concerned about what was said in the local paper blog. So if you want these folks to know what you think, just say so here. |
| Don Adams Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 9:20 am More from Don Adams | Please spend a day with Kenny Hale and you will gain a greater respect of both his ability and the job he does. I have worked with all sorts of talented people ...from college presidents to CEOs of some of the largest corporations in this land... none are more talented nor more dedicated to service than Kenny Hale. He is a tireless and talented worker for you the citizen of our fine county. |
| Don Adams Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 9:48 am More from Don Adams | To Mr. or Mrs. Arse, We have been meeting with local fire chiefs, trustees, and even folks from the Governor's office for over a year seeking information so that we can proceed to explore ways to provide a good affordable service.... we may seem lethargic to you because most of those meetings are not reported...they are part of our job of gaining information on what we can do and how we can afford to do it. As we proceed there will be ample opportunity for the pubic to weigh in with their concerns and suggestion. To that point I will in the next couple of days be putting a survey on our county website, http://morgancounty.in.gov where citizens can share their concerns and suggestions. |
| Don Adams Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 9:53 am More from Don Adams | Mr. or Mrs Driver, The only correct part of your comment was the word good. The rest is horse * . |
| Lassiter Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 10:19 am More from Lassiter | Cool! Now the debate is on! Told y'all the officials were watching :) |
| Spanky Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 10:55 am More from Spanky | "Please spend a day with Kenny Hale and you will gain a greater respect of both his ability and the job he does. I have worked with all sorts of talented people ...from college presidents to CEOs of some of the largest corporations in this land... none are more talented nor more dedicated to service than Kenny Hale. He is a tireless and talented worker for you the citizen of our fine county." I rest my case. |
| driver Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 11:02 am More from driver | Mr Don Adams and Mr spanky I don't know who Kenny Hale thinks he is wanting to do away with my township trustee's and there boards. If Kenny wants to save the county money he needs to give some of the checks back he gets each month and stop milking the county for all he can get. |
| Greg Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 2:26 pm More from Greg | I, too, would love to see townships and trustees done away with. I'm not trying to take over the county, I just know that fire/EMS can be handled at the county level and eliminate much of the "horse * " that is township government. Township government is archaic, wasteful, and chronically corrupt. As for Kenny Hale, I have serious issues with some of his positions at times, but Don is 100% correct about Hale's level of commitment. I certainly wouldn't want to run against him while I had to maintain a full time job, and his experience level is second to none. My experience with Kenny Hale has been that he is honest, dedicated, and down-to-earth, even when his stance is opposed to mine. |
| Q Siren Wednesday, December 22, 2010: 2:49 pm More from Q Siren | Are we suppose to put our trust in the Commissioners to fix this? They did a real bang up job 4 years ago when the hospital hired and outside company and had a well built professional plan laid out right in front of them. It would have cost the county less than the salaries they are paying to EMA every year. They allowed themselves to be swayed into dumping it, by Dave Davis, the same person they have selected to run this. I fear for the health and well-being of the citizens of Morgan County. At least the city stepped up to assure the safety of their citizens. |
