Undocumented immigrant sentenced to 20 years, faces deportation
read more recent story comments Reader comments| Ed Friday, January 14, 2011: 2:23 pm More from Ed | "Because he is an undocumented immigrant, Lara-Sangines, 23, of Mexico, has a hold placed on him from the Department of Homeland Security and, after serving his sentence, he will be deported to Mexico"." Seriously? Let the DHS have him. Why should the good ole' USA care for him for 20 years or even 10 (with good behavior). He's already received 233 free hots and a cot more than he should have. Ship him across the border. I really don't want to care for him for the next 10 to 20. |
| Ed Friday, January 14, 2011: 2:25 pm More from Ed | PS. He was traveling to Indy from Mexico on I-70. |
| Greg Friday, January 14, 2011: 5:47 pm More from Greg | Ed, For the first time I can recall, I agree with you 100%. Why in Hades are we gonna support this fool and THEN deport him? Heck, by that point, Obummer will have made him a citizen and we can all pay his Social Security. And one wonders why a woman would go off the deep end about our judiciary... Nuff said. |
| Scott Gregory Friday, January 14, 2011: 8:28 pm More from Scott Gregory | The only positive I can see for holding him in prison is that if we deport him he could be back here in weeks, if not days trying to bring coke back up here if he hadn't ticked off his people by losing the first shipment. |

| Sunny Saturday, January 15, 2011: 9:44 am More from Sunny | Jdigger, I believe Ed would very much appreciate your post! Ed, Been checking on a lot of the things you said last night about I-69. I have found your information to be very credible. Thank you for the information. Alas, like the old saying goes "You can't fight City Hall".... what do you do? |
| Liberty Saturday, January 15, 2011: 10:11 am More from Liberty | I bet those who live along I70 wish I69 was completed. |
| Danny Stewart Saturday, January 15, 2011: 11:06 am More from Danny Stewart | I believe that regardless of how you may feel about I-69, because it is most likely to come thru here whether we want it to or not, we need to be prepared for it. Whether we get two interchanges or three, we will be far better off being prepared. It's kinda one of those situations where you are better off having too much of something and not need it than to not have it if or when you may need it. As far as the town being split in two, if you think about it, it already is because of 37. Plenty of towns have interstates, highways and rivers running thru them and they manage just fine. Now, is I-69 needed? No, I don't believe it is, but as I said, better to be prepared. |
