All Morgan County townships that filed employ family members

So ALL of the Township Trustees report having family memebers on the payroll. With this being said, why do you continually attack the Neal and Manley families. I'm not sure if your jealous of these 2 families or what, but your beef should be with the Township Trustees whose population is 1/4 of Washington Townships, and whose Trustees make considerably more. I'm not related to anyone in politics in Morgan County.

The rest of the trustees don't work for me. Neal did and Manley does.

Don't cheapen yourself, by attempting to deflect the error of having inaccurately defended this politically parasitic family, by trying to label me. Either have the objectivity to recognize, and admit, the Neal/Manley dynasty is wrong or be loyal enough to defend their actions.

You're entitled to your opinion, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

The overwhelming evidence is that there have been NO REPORTS OF WRONGDOING by the current or former Washington Township Trustee, I got this from reading the WHOLE REPORT, and not being narrow minded.

Arse, I'm disappointed about the nepotism continuing in WT, but as NKR said, virtually every township does it and has done it for years. There are Kivetts all over county government, and there are multiple Deckards in city government that replaced the Buskirks that were there previously. Our new sheriff is a former sheriff's grandson, and our last sheriff had his son as a jail officer. Our Republican Party chairman is married to a Superior Court judge. Why the hostility toward Manley? If you have a problem with nepotism, attack the nepotism. If you have a problem with Manley, just say so. Your ignorance is hanging out.

Okay,

Sounds interesting. What report not keith rhoades are you inferring to? I would like to know. Was there a legal investigation into these two families?

And the topic here is nepotism, and the right/wrong of that topic. The question is not the two families engaged in illegal activity. The question is the ethic side of nepotism. Is this the ethical thing to do? Should there be legislation passed against it? And it's a matter of debating an opinion between us.

Responses should be interesting.

Greg,

Arse is very passionate about his "Calling it like you see it". That is why I respect his posts and his opinions cause they usually carry merit. I think it was narrowed down to the Manley/Neal debate with NKR because he was trying to prove a point over nepotism.... and they were cited as an example. I doubt either he or myself disagree with your assessment of our county officials. He is just frustrated like a lot of us are. Now that everything has been aired out. Lets continue to work together for a better community and encourage the staff at the R.T. to investigate these things.

Only two of the 11 townships, Jackson and Washington, filed the required conflict of interest form
I have no beef with anyone, but when the remarks are pointed towards select individuals, over, and over, and over again, it gets a little old. These are elected public officials, all one needs to do is go to council meetings, the Trustees office, and I'm sure these people would like to hear what you have to say about them, to their face. Hard to believe their is so much ill will towards someone who has served in their new position for less than 3 weeks. Give them a chance to prove whether they are doing a good job or not, but little can be told in 19 days. Time will tell whether I eat my words or not, but until I have a reason to be dissatisfied with the work one has done, I will not be critical of them.

Greg,

Undeniably, Sir, I am ignorant, at least on certain subjects. I'll take ignorance, the absence of facts, over stupidity, the denial of facts, everytime. You, Greg, and NKR, have apparently have embraced the opposing stance on this.

I have to laugh now when I see you and NKR flapping in the wind trying to defending "your" man's actions after all of your posts condemning such behavior. This whole finger pointing at the other trustees, the sheriff and other office holders, in an attempt to make "your" guy look less culpable is precious. I haven't seen that used quite as ineffectively since my children where in grade school.

As far as my focusing on the Neal/Manley dynasty, as I stated before, THEY WORK FOR ME so I take their questionable practices personally. As my employees, I'm much more familiar with their day to day performance and able to become less ignorant of their standard operating procedures. Along with less ignorance, comes my refusal to be stupid and excuse questionable behavior by my employee just because he's "my" guy.

I have both friends who hold political office and friends who've held political office. If they were asked if I had given them a pass, or been less critical of some of their political decisions, simply based upon our friendship, the first thing you would probably notice would be a little smile begin to break across their lips. This would be followed by a slow shaking side-to-side of the head, which would be accompanied by a quick & sincere assurance that was not the case.

I have no personal hostility toward the Neals or the Manleys. They are simply the closest, most glaring example of what is the root wrong in politics. Holding public office should not be about how much you, the politician, can gain from it. It should be about how much you can give to the citizens. I just see the entire premise of "public service" lost & corrupted. And even more infuriating, excused...if the offender happens to be "your" guy.

Brenda,
Personally, you could not pay me enough to be a politician. In a small town your either perceived as the "good guy", or the "bad guy", your either in the "clique" or your not. We taxpayers also pay the Morgan Hospital CEO over $400K a year, and you never hear anyone complain, and we didn't even have a chance to ELECT him. I would guess that at least 75% of all city, and county employess either have someone, or had someone who was related to them that also works or worked for the city, county.

Just exactly who would you report the wrongdoing to anyways? 1. The advisory board which is usually made up of relatives, friends and firefighters. 2. Channel 6 news so the public can ignore the investigative report at election time 3. The taxpayers who get called names and harassed when they speak out at meetings about the way the township is being run. 4. The county prosecutor
Seriously. Who do these people answer to?!

Arse, whether or not I agree with your opinion doesn't have any bearing on the fact that your last post was a masterpiece. I am a fan of both you and Greg and can't wait to see how this verbal battle ends. I wouldn't put money on either one of you right now since I consider you both to be strong players. Now let the games continue...

The advisory board members are elected as well as the prosecutor. Government is so big now, that there is no oversight overy any type of government
