If there is a way to save 13.1 million dollars by transferring the township responsibilities to govt entities that could potentially do the job just as effectively, at least they think they can, you can bet that way will be found and implemented quickly. |
| Arse Tuesday, April 12, 2011: 3:32 pm More from Arse | “Really, it’s just the way it worked out,” Manley said of his family members on the payroll. “I didn’t see any reason in changing Cathy. She does a good job, knows it and has done it for many years. As far as my wife, she inquired about the job and I spoke to the lady who had done it before, and gave her the job.” Manley said townships were not the only form of government with nepotism and said anyone, whether in government or private business, in a position to help family members and friends would do so. “I know some people have a problem with nepotism, but I don’t see a problem with it,” he said. “As long as there are checks and balances.” Manley said Cathy Neal puts in more hours than are required for her pay and that he’s never had anyone complain about his family members being on the payroll, nor has he had anyone else inquire about the jobs. Remember this. There will be a quiz later. |

Unfortunately our system is corrupt, but it's the best system we have. It's quite puzzling why there isn't any legislation banning nepotism in governing positions. My employer has strict regulations against such things. |
