| nobodyimportant Wednesday, March 2, 2011: 8:21 am More from nobodyimportant | Working with addicted homeless man (and women) is a messy business. It sounds like some on here are questioning whether the men served by Manna Mission "deserve" to be helped. If each one of us got what we deserved, we would be dead waiting God's judgement, and our plight would not be pretty either. The sin of excessive drinking or drug us is no worse than the sins of lying, pride, arrogance, anger, bitterness, boasting, conceit, jealosy, unfaithfulness, looking lusitly at another, envy, deceit, cursing, gossip......etc. I thank God every day that he didn't condemn me for my sins and turn his face from me. If you believe that "those people" don't merit your help, that's on you. But don't for a minute look down your noses on those who put their faith in action by volunteering to help and/or donating to make it possible to extend God's love to His people! Shame! |
