Dean, it would seem that you are contradicting yourself. Obama is defending the Constitution. To deny these people the pursuit of happiness would be unconstitutional.

The President is sworn to protect equal rights for all Americans.

Some of you seem to have the mistaken idea that it is his job to promote your religious views instead. Perhaps your efforts would be more appropriately directed to helping to stop things like adultry, abuse and divorce within your own religious institutions?

I am conflicted. As a Christian who believes the Word of God is perfect, complete, and without error, I cannot support homosexuality and same sex marriage. But I also realize that our country was founded on Christian principles, but not a "Christian Government."

We would have set up exactly what our forfathers were fleeing from if we had established a Christian nation. In doing what they did, they opened the door for the acceptance of all religions, even the religion of atheism.

I won't judge Pesident O'Bama. God will deal with him and none of us know for sure what that judgment will be, nor should we. Railing at any government leader because he or she is not governing using our values as measuring sticks is useless and not very helpful.

Though I often disagree with A Hoosier, I believe he is right on this one issue. President O'Bama would have run counter to the Constitution as currently worded had he taken the position suggested by comm enters here.

There is only one way that I can think of that addresses a desire to bring our laws more closely in line with Biblical principles. That is to elect more men and women who are walking in the light Christians (not just Christian in name and church membership only). The leaders we have now were elected my us and I doubt there are any real surprises in the positions they have taken. We knew what we were getting. One of many neat things about our country is that we can replace our leaders. O'Bama is no dictator, nor can he be.

But for sure, there is no perfect candidate. Candidates cannot pass each of our individual litmus tests. We are messy people living in a messy world and electing equally messy people to govern. What each of us can do, however is change who we are and invite others to change with us. When enough people become disciples of Christ to put Godly people in office, then we can expect governmental change.

You're a girl ? Well I suppose you could prove it. But, great point you make. You are a genius !!.. I guess your right. We shouldn't give taxpayers money in SS benefits and insurance benefits and military benefits to someone who can't prove they are a homosexual. Not genetic just a personal preference on how to get off. WOW, that reminds me of the story about this guy and a chicken but I won't go there.

Great point Hoosier, I guess we would have million of people just claiming it to defraud the government and insurance companies. WOW, I heard that's what this is all about because they can shack up anyway and marriage is an institution created by the same GOD they don't agree with so they must be right, it's just a political movement designed to defraud the system. If they don't feel a need to follow God's Word then they can't honestly feel a need to be involved in His marriage. All makes sense now after you scraped all the deceitful bark off. Same motives as all the other deceitful special interest groups have, becoming leeches onto others through emotional deception.

You know Hoos, I really enjoy you insightful post. :)

Peace :)

Lib, you want to worry about folks defauding the government, worry about financial institutions/compamies that are defauding the federal government by using offshore tax havens. Goldman Sachs for instance who had a net profit if 16 billion and paid a tax rate of 1%.

It's your prejudice against same sex couples that makes you irate, not the money, and the fact that their lifestyle is not condoned by your bible.

Hey Hoos, I don't get irate and I'm not passing judgment. I just don't think this nation can afford to give anyone who falls in love with a chicken taxpayers money, that's all.

You see Hoos, you've been hosed into thinking this is real. This is only a homo-political stunt to leech money. Here's your test to prove it, just ask one of the homo-political activist how they feel about marriage without the ability of receiving any financial privileges. The answer will show you where their hearts at. Then ask them at least be able to prove that they are a homosexual, that's only fair right ?. The answer will show you what this is all about and who is in control.

By no means should you disrespect them or judge them but help them understand they can't really expect others to accept things they can't even prove to be real, let alone give them money for just liking a certain way of getting off. You can do this in a loving way. Not all who get off that way are radical political hateful activist.

You see when you deal with the facts and truth none of it makes any sense.

Peace :)

Lib, I do not appreciate your suggestion that I have been bamboozled by anyone. I am not a gullible female.

All people, no matter their country, has a right to the pursuit of happiness, endowed by their creator.

I'm sure the gentleman last week didn't appreciate you stating that he had bought into the government propaganda when he enlisted in the military either.
