Well, we've taken God out of the schools, we don't want Jesus around our kids (until someone gets shot, then we pray like crazy). We've taken discipline out of our schools (can't paddle the kids, it might hurt their self esteem). We've turned over our education system to liberals in government for the last fifty years. Parents and other adults need to keep their guns locked and the key in a safe place. Most teens are not mature enough to have access to guns. If everyone would be more responsible for things at home maybe it would be safer. I know that some kids are mature enough to hunt during season and in a safe area and in this instant guns can be ok. There are classes for this and they should not hunt without a responsible adult.In the late 40's when the high school was located on Sycamore street fights broke out on the corner about every day on (Smokey Corner) just a black eye was the results. That was the violence then. |

As we move down the road away from this tragedy, we should pray for needed changes in our system so this type of thing does not happen in the future. It isn't perfect but the parents and students in Martinsville are as good as it gets and I am sorry to hear this news story as it will give many people a reason to slam Martinsville when it doesn't deserve to be slammed.
