Seems that any plea should include a count at least as serious as the charges that were filed against the people he arrested...namely a felony.

I am with ya on that.With as light a sentance that they are proposing it will not send the proper msg. to other cops not to lie to get convictions that ruin others lives.

Step Up/ Rod I 100% agree with your comments. Couldn't have said it better myself. The thought of that policeman getting a plea bargain... OUTRAGEOUS!!! We need to keep those plea bargains for the child molesters, burglars that remove your property while you are working, and drunk drivers that kill people. How dare they consider a plea for someone that has never had a blemish on his record before or after his resignation. I'm probably being cynical again, but I'm just saying...

Is it a proven fact that the "substances" that were sent away for testing came back as "not illegal drugs"? I couldn't agree with you more Cuda. Someday the whole truth about this story and Mr. Whitley will be printed in this paper, so don't be so quick to judge him on what has been printed so far.
