| drummer Wednesday, April 13, 2011: 12:29 pm More from drummer | sounds like a complete mess.......... yes, it doesn't say much for homeschoolers.... from what I have seen, there are the home schooled that excel, by having parents that know what they are doing, and then you have the goofy parents who rebel against the principal or teachers when there is a school problem and stomp out of schools with their child...... and in-between, there are a myriad of other students......... my opinion is that some home schoolers are great, some are ridiculous and some are in-between great and ridiculous...... and I have issues with public schools also..... Martinsville public schools are better than most, but still, I have seen an over idealization of native americans, black history month, MLK the plagiarist and phoney, lack of reading, too many recesses, a system that disfavors boys, on and on....... too much federal government |
| The Voice Wednesday, April 13, 2011: 12:51 pm More from The Voice | First of all, public school or home school is not the issue~this child is missing and her parents are making a desparate plea to find her. I think being supportive and prayerful is what you should do and stop judging. I myself am homeschooling my son who also struggled in the public school system and he is doing just fine! However, I do have 2 children who still attend public school. There are many circumstances that a parent has to consider when chosing to homeschool and unless you have been in our shoes, then please do not lash out in ignorance. I did not notice a description of her vehicle in the article. That information would be helpful in pursuing her wherabouts. |

| Liberty Wednesday, April 13, 2011: 2:48 pm More from Liberty | I think The Voice is right on this. I also would point out two key things in the letter, divorce and not able to tolerate public schools. People don't always understand the massive impact that a divorce has on a child's foundations and the same can be said for problems with public education. The bottom line is she wants help finding her daughter and I can understand the loss of sleep. For all you public teachers on here ~ 20 or so, if you would make this quest known to your class I sure at some point someone will say something. It's very unusual for a young lady to not communicate with her friends. We should also pray for God's guidance and protection for this young lady and here parents. |
| whatever Wednesday, April 13, 2011: 4:03 pm More from whatever | Drummer-I'm pretty sure you are living on Native American land. This is a sad situation-why bring race into it? |
| Zapper Thursday, April 14, 2011: 11:52 am More from Zapper | A families daughter is missing, I can not imagine the feeling. Yet to some it's just an opportunity to judge others and spout racism. I hope for the best outcome for this family. |
