I do beleive that this psychologist's testimoney should be thrown out since he didnt have all the evidence that ne needed to do the right kind of evaluation. How can he even say that he was a threat to society without knowing all of the information... You just cant go off of just talking to him. You need all informtion to come up with a diagnosis. So I dont understand how he could even testify without having it all.

I agree West2011 and he was paid by the defense, how do you think he will testify. If he wouldn't have agreed with who hired him, he wouldn't be there!

Yes I know.. His testimony should be thrown out completely. The boy deserves a fair trial, but to hire someone to say what he said and then say "well I didnt have all the facts about the case" Then what I dont understand. is why is he even giving a testimony if he didnt have all the facts to begin with...

He doesn't need the case facts to evaluate the child- his job was not to evaluate the incident. Instead he needed to approach the matter as objectively as possible. Experts are not paid to provide a specific testimony, in favor of the state or the defense, they are paid for their time and professional experience.

There is no way on this earth that he had enough time to even do so.. He even stated taht in his statement... Go read what he wrote then give your judgement.

Of course he didn't have time to interview EVERYONE. If you recall, the Judge allowed two weeks for the psychologist to be found and evaluate the child.

When a family can't pay, the rest of us do. My husband and I have paid taxes every year for all of our 13 years of being married. We have no kids, nor enough things to "write-off". I can say now- that someone in my family may benefit from all we've given to the government. What goes around comes around. Let God help you be gentle in your judgement. Lassiter-please don't make me quote scripture because I'm sure I'll mess it up. I know you are probably a kind person, from your other posts-all families need help every once in awhile. Believe me, this one does-and they need everyone's prayers.

I do not get it.If a 15 y.o. child is abused they are a child everbody says so.But suddenly if they do something bad enough they are an adult.
The judge that is decideing this childs fate is the same one whos wife got of dwi charges because they lost the evidence. Not her first i might add.Good ol boys will decide this childs fate partly because of political reasons.

My dad was/is an alcoholic and beat my sister and I our entire childhood. We never shot anybody. Horrible excuse in my opinion. He is old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.

Thank you for the kind words. THe frustrating part for me is the public mentality of the Oh well, The taxpayers can pay for it. It is a lose-lose situation. If he is sent to these programs, we all pay for it. If he's convicted as an adult, we all pay for it. In the end, no matter how much it costs there is no guarantee that he will not hurt or kill somebody else.

As far as the scriptures go thank you for not starting that debate. As you see from time to time they can be picked over to support nearly any opinion. Even to the point of saying this young man deserves a death penalty by stoning (deuteronomy 21:18-21. I do not wish for this type of an outcome but could use these scriptures to defend that position.

Yes, it does stink that us taxpayers are going to pay for it. I get real tired of seeing single moms with their boyfriends spending their WIC/foodstamps etc,(at the grocery or market) while I'm paying for my stuff-full price. They live together-pay their bills together-but get a break because they are doing it "all on their own". Because they are not married-or only make so much money. This shouldn't be my responsibility-to take care of their kids...right? How about birth control? I would love to see a demographic of where my tax money has gone for the last 20 years. I wonder how many people I have fed while they were shacking up. Or how many court costs I've paid for strangers. The point is, I have always paid, and will continue to do so-unfortunately.. At least this time I know my money is helping a family that I know. What were we all doing when we were 15? The fact that he was so desperate is a tragedy in itself. Where were the social services I pay for? How can child get in trouble 60 times in school and not be red flagged? Let me guess: they figured he was a 15 year old kid going through puberty. 15 year olds don't realize the finality of their choices-they don't go to adult prison or shouldn't. He isn't an adult-that's why he is at Johnson County.
