Mr. Doug Arthur,

You said:
To give exact answers to your questions, I feel they have to be studied in great detail by many talented people of this community. I don’t want to give a quick, off-the-top-of-my-head answer because I wouldn’t approach these issue in that manner.

Really? I know you have good ideas, because I've heard you say them! It's funny how some of the things you suggested and ideas you've pointed out in the past people are heading in that direction and taking credit for it now. I know you're willing to work with others and pool the opinions together and sift through the B.S. to get the best solution for everybody.

You'll get no boos from me for being humble Mr. Arthur. I don't care who has raised the most money from their cronies or kissed the most babies. I hope like heck you win this election and win the next one after that! The older I get the less patient I'm becoming with the same ole political rhetoric around town.

When I commented a few days ago with some boos for the non-responders and Mr. Arthur's dodge of the questions, I spoke not of his humbleness, but of his decision to not take the time to provide thoughtful responses to the questions. I don't know what he was thinking, but the inference I took from it was that he didn't consider the questions important enough to give them his attention.

I don't know why people enter political races and then don't take the time for simple things like responding to a questionairre like this. It took no campaign money, it only took at most 15-20 minutes to participate. My boos continue.

You know Doug, I think Owl has a very good point, I too have heard your ideas and am seeing them finally coming to fruition. I have also seen you go nose to nose during Buttsquirt's reign about the taxpayers saying "NO!" to spending 5 million $ on firestation, we all lost on that battle, but I appreciated you trying. So yep, I think you could have taken more time and gotten a bit more wordy on each issue but, whoa say howdy you did a GREAT Job on Meet the Candidates on WCBK. I look forward to hearing you in action again on the first and third Mondays sitting next to Eric Bowlen, working on the same team for all of us taxpayers, as it should have been last election. City employees should NOT be allowed to run for those seats. And if we had term limits we wouldn't have had to endure 12 years of a dictatorship. You Doug, have always had an open door policy as does the current admmistration. I can only hope to see many more people get involved by coming to City Council meetings and letting their voice be heard. I know for a fact Mayor Deckard asks for comments and thoughts at EVERY meeting. VOTE ARTHUR!! VOTE DECKARD!!! THE ONLY CHOICE FOR SUCCESS!!!!

Thanks Danny. While we're talking about what we heard last evening, alot of what the negative comments were made by BS he himself caused. BS keeps harping about the Water, give me a break, her highness herself isn't making things abit better with her customer service skills. Read between the lines folks. Good Lord, do we really want that team again?!? People really need to attend meetings and see this admministration at work. Spina said,"I will give $5,000.00 of the Mayor's salary to the park fund" if he had attended meetings he would know that $5,000.00 is a drip of what is needed. In all reality he doesn't bring the right tools to the table. Throwing money at something isn't the only tools needed. Spinas big drive is to save 'us' money by cutting Halloway out, if he really knew what is going on he would know just how much money Ross and his abilities have saved us. Even Buskirk knows how many times Ross saved his lame butt over the years. Neither of these guys have the team work skills or the knowledge of who and when to bring in skilled, intelligent individuals like Sharyn Kersey. ONLY ONE CHOICE FOR THAT. DECKARD FOR THE NEXT 4!!!!!!

tlh, I have to agree with you, Deckard is the only choice for mayor. On the point of these "candidates" attending council meetings (or lack thereof),I have found that many of them, with the exception of Arthur (who is a member of the Plan Commission), Badger, Ferguson & Strader have not actually taken the time to attend regular City Common Council meetings. I heard that Spina & Price showed up for ONE a while back. I'm getting really tired of the comments from one candidate for mayor in particular, who is spreading falsehood regarding TIF districts and downgrading the need for our engineer. I have a clear vision of what kind of leadership most of the wannabe's would provide for the citizens of our community, and it's not pretty.

After listening to Meet Your Candidates, it is pretty clear that the Mayor is the only candidate who has an understanding of the city's current situation, and even more importantly, has a working plan to move forward and grow the city. People have come to expect the negative campaign tactics of the Former Mayor. If only he would spend more time discussing pertinent issues that are important to the city. I like it that he refers to himself as the "former mayor"....let's keep it that way. Then there's Vic....he is so preoccupied with Holloway that he can't share his plan for the city. I believe Deckard is the only one who has conveyed an effective plan of action and growth for the city. Yep, Deckard's the man with a plan.
