I'm not so sure you see the past clearly. |
| A Hoosier Monday, April 25, 2011: 9:01 pm More from A Hoosier | I can't tell if Burnham is speaking about Michael's home life or his own. "Substance ridden." Arse, remove your cranium from your rectum, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Liberty, I agree with you. This is tragic. It is very, very unfortunate that others don't see this. |
| kitkat02 Monday, April 25, 2011: 9:10 pm More from kitkat02 | There is no "good" outcome in any of this. Two teen age boys' lives have forever been altered...along with their friends and families. I am blessed in that I know I have a God who is above all...and that He and only He can turn something tragic into something so much more than ever imaginable. Chance Jackson - and family, Judge Burnham, and Michael Phelps will continue to be in my prayers...as they all still have a very long road ahead of them. |

I sure he was talking about the boys. He considered it as evident but seemed to refuse it as reason for the boys worthiness of redemption. He had a tough job but nothing as tough as the boy or any boy or girl that is in the same environment. Gods Word says that " mercy triumphs over judgment" . There is a reason for this. Because through mercy good can result. In this case we aren't talking about letting a trouble boy out on the street but providing him help for the first time in his life. If the courts new of his environment from previous problems and just let it continue then the courts share in this crime. It's the communities responsibility to help each other and not turn our backs on children who you know is being harmed. That's the reason we have elected judges, not to let these things go until a child is shot. The court went against the victims and his parents wishes and in doing so disrespected them. Now they will carry additional burden. Politics have overcome every aspect of our world, school, courts, church, you name it. Christ Kingdom needs citizens who are able to turn their backs on the world and all it's evils. Peace :) . |

Liberty you are certainly entitled to your opinion as we all are but I think you are overstepping when you insinuate the rest of us are "seeking evil and sinful revenge". You don't know our hearts and minds. I assure you I am not about revenge. I'm an outsider looking in just like you and therefore have no reason to seek revenge. If ANYONE was going to seek revenge it would be Chance Jackson or his family and not someone like me who doesn't even know any of these people. So that statement of yours makes no sense at all. I also think you are assuming a lot when you say Phelps wasn't trying to kill Chance. He fired TWO shots from a gun. A gun is called a DEADLY WEAPON for a reason. I have never heard it referred to as a hurtful weapon. Did you stop to consider that maybe Mr. Phelps was just a bad shot? Video game controllers and triggers on real guns are two different animals. Maybe he was aiming for the chest. If his intent was to cause pain he could've accomplished that with a good punch to the nose. Respectfully...Your arguement is preposterous and that is my opinion. |

| Lassiter Tuesday, April 26, 2011: 12:21 am More from Lassiter | Mr. Phelps will have to go to trial. He will then be judged by a jury. Then if the jury finds him guilty there is already talk of appeals. To keep it in perspective under Sharia law he could be put to a firing squad tomorrow. Or better yet, Stoned to death. what Kitkat said earlier I couldn't agree more. |

Neither do most adults. Our Jails are just full of them. Who will need the next pass for stupidity? |
| IamAnnMiller Tuesday, April 26, 2011: 12:51 am More from IamAnnMiller | I am with the paster "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". Who among us is with out the sin of gossiping about someone or bullying someone. Because they don't where good clothes, or their hair is not combed or their hair is red ?? How much can a child take when even the day care person you had was a child says "He was a hell raiser even when he was a toddler "?? And he had no responsible parent at home to even know where the hell he was the night before he did the shooting. "Let the mother and Michael's birth father stand trial as adults for the crime. They are the responsible adults in this situation. |
| IamAnnMiller Tuesday, April 26, 2011: 12:55 am More from IamAnnMiller | This case should have been hear out of this county.(ie.Marion County). This whole thing is just a very heart breaking situation. All you can do is cry and pray for everyone involved. My prayers go out to everyone. God Bless us all in this time of trouble pain . |
| Liberty Tuesday, April 26, 2011: 1:24 am More from Liberty | Rat, I meant no insult to you. I stated exactly why I take my position in both a logical way and a scriptural way. I showed what could be and what will be, not by my opinion but by the proof of the millions who lived it before. I don't see where I am off on this unless I'm expected to advocate repaying evil with evil or seeking something that only belongs to the Lord. Not my job. I made myself very clear on not wanting to set the boy free but to make an effort to rehabilitate a BOY while he is still young. If everyone wants me to seek to make a monster out of him by having his 15 year old rear end ripped open nightly just to be a go along with the hate filled lynch mob, I refuse and want no part of this crucifixion. Jesus doesn't want punishment for this boy, He wants his soul. Plain and simple. The same way with the victims family that is showing the love of Christ. Sending a little boy into a mans prison will only guarantee one thing. I have worked with young people with problems and yes even one who used to work for me who made one bad judgment and went through the very thing I don't want this boy to go through. Reading his letters taught me what not to do to young people and what outcome to expect. Is to want him off the streets wrong, No. Is to want him to be rehabilitated wrong No. Is revenge evil, well according to Gos word, Yes. In Gods eyes sin is sin and so this sin is no worst than the sin the judge committed when he would get him out of his previous abusive environmental problem or the sin of hate the public feels. It's what is in our hearts as we deal with this that matters. I guess that the victim and his family wants the Lord glorified by their forgiveness. Why do so many others want to prevent that. I think to go against their wishes is as much a crime as anything else. That's the side I'm on in this and I also know Jesus can make what ever He wants come from it so I'm not to worry. I guess all we can do at this point is to pray for Gods will to be done and for all the hate from the community to subside and forgiveness to reign in our hearts while the community deals with the trial. Maybe we can still get this boy the help we never offered before. If you disagree with my position it's not taken as an insult. I know you have a kind heart and want to do the right thing. What you think isn't my business anyway. I think everyone is still experiencing out cry and may think differently when we all calm down. I think it would help if we just concentrated on the slughter Christ did for us while we sinned and basiscally killed Him. Yesterday we celibrated His forgiveness for us but today we sit and scream "crusify"? I don't think that's what we intend to do but it does place things in perspective since this boy has done nothing to us but to someone else who has forgiven him. My guess the victims family understand what Jesus commanded in Matthew 6 when He taught us to ask for the same forgiveness we have used in forgiving others because how we forgive others (or not) is how He will (or not) forgive us. It's in His hands, Peace :) |
