Wow Just Observing, I was just pointing out this is just something being talked about. I used the article itself yo point it out. Everything I said was from the article, even the date of the release. No plan has been presented, no approvals by the council or other body's have been made. All in the artificial so what is all the mean angry name-calling stuff. Remember Lowes or Manards ? I was just honestly pointing our the fact that first this was a press-release from the mayor about a possible project in the thinking stage all just before the election as a big for sure victory for the city. That is deception. Just pointing out the words. I didn't write them but deception should be shown light. I don't care who votes for who. Now let me say this. I have lost to many friends to war, including those who are still alive and have been scared by it. They would never cheapen the honor of their service by using it to gain some sort of special right to strip others of their right to an opinion. You did not serve to gain may right to speak freely my friend no matter how twisted you make it. My right was granted by my creator ( GOD) and if you would read our nations founding documents you swore to protect you would have know that. No respectable vet would cheapen themselves by using their service to slam others. Your service did not give you that right. You don't have to do that. I'm all for paying your paycheck the rest of you life for that time but I'm not for giving you some special right to use your service as a weapon. If you are going to go off the deep end and call names, insult and all that just don't bring up your military background as a reason. There are to many vets who aren't like that. Did you go into the service to be praised and honored and glorify yourself ?. If so you have received your praise in full the first time you looked in the mirror. If you truly went into the service "just so service so jerks like you can be hypocrite on sites such as this!" as you said then why do you now complain. You weren't honest when you wrote that and should rethink your motives about serving anyway. I will assume they were pure and honorable and you are just mad and out of character. I hold nothing against you and hope you are able to get those things worked out. Peace :) |

The only sad thing I've noted is that you spreading incorrect information (polite for lies). Costin and a partner brought forth a proposal for an elder living community. They were given the blessing of the city to move forward, HOWEVER, the funding fell through on Mr. Costin's end and the project was dropped by he and the partner. I do believe that ANOTHER elder community was discussed and it also fell through. To no fault of the city. This current proposal is yet ANOTHER provider seeking out the city. Neither Mayor Deckard nor anyone else has stolen any ideas or taken any credit for "other peoples hard work". The Mainstreet Corp. came to the City. What is sad is that you are spreading falsehoods....you know kind of like a snake in the grass. |
| moco55 Monday, May 2, 2011: 11:33 am More from moco55 | Second best news to be heard in Martinsville in the last few days. Hats off to Mayor Deckard and the Martinsville Common Council. They are stepping forward and extending a welcome to Mainstreet Corporation. Mainstreet has been successful in other communities. Why not Martinsville? |

| Liberty Monday, May 2, 2011: 2:59 pm More from Liberty | That's being a little nicer. But I still don't get you attachment to me on this. I wasn't being negative. I was just pointing out things in the article. I am a very positive person. Sometimes it's hard to find positive things that are real on this papers site and I usually just comment on education and children issues which outside of sports doesn't seem to net much positive news. To fall and get giggly about press release of something being talked about as a great victory isn't being negative unless it's politics that controls your emotions. I will Highlight all these same point in the article so you can go after them and I can get some stitches in my ankle. Peace:)
"They're not asking for abatements yet," Deckard said. "They will likely ask us to join them in a bond issue, which they will try to pay off in five years. There's always a slim chance of liability for the city, but this seems to be a great opportunity." Looks like everything I asked and said was also in the article and it looks like Holloway's ankle is the one to reclamp on. He's the one who honestly admitted it was a premature and political press release. Why do you shoot the messenger just because I actually read for comprehension. Another example of the union education failure. I do think any good business venture that brings employment to our town is good as long as it isn't a socialist enterprize city venture. But this article has nothing to do with this but as Holloway says he would be lying if he said it wasn't planned to be prematurely and purposely made just before the election. So don't pick on me. I would love to see some jobs. Our unemployment in this country is already at ~ 20% CLICK HERE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT STATS and climbing by 400,000 more each month. The CEO of Walmart say their core base customers are running out of money and we are country is going into a time significant inflation. We are already are above 10% inflation on a graph that is pointing almost straight up. CLICK HERE FOR 10%+ INFLATION STATS So lets hope the banks who aren't loaning commercial money will change their harded and understandable policies and make money avialble for projects like this so the cities with socialit tendencies don't put the taxpayers without jobs pay for them. Consider this, as we continue to slide into a deepened deprestion who will be able to pay a nursing home or a managed care facility for care. The healthcare system has drained medicare and medicade. I'm just being positive about the real situation of things and not the political ilutions. A long slide into a depression takes many routes and go's through several up's and downs on it's way down. Inflation will hit us harder than anyother thing we have exsperienced yet. I'm just saying hang on to whats real and don't allow your money to be mis-spent. And also this isn't my opinion but the experience of history. Or don't they teach that anymore ? Oh yah, the great depression was replaced with the civil rights movement of the 60's. Well just pray the dollar isn't replace as the world currency through the current attempts of the IMF or we won't be talking about buying things for a very long time. I'm positive about that. |
| A Hoosier Friday, November 4, 2011: 11:10 pm More from A Hoosier | I find this very interesting. Before the primary, the city was building a senior community. How's that going by the way? Elections are on Tuesday and a new company is moving into town. Couple of questions. How much is this company paying in rent? How much were their taxes reduced to move to Martinsville? Is the 200,000 the city been saving come from TIF? What is the median income in the TIF? How many jobs will be created? How many people in Martinsville will be hired by this company? (Do the residents have the required skills to work there?) Just REALLY curious. |
